Huberdeau isn't actually a bad guy to have on a rebuilding team.
The roster would be able to accommodate his cap hit, his effort is there most nights to show leadership and he's not quite good enough to move us into worse draft spots.
He's actually the ideal guy to build a rebuilding stinker around.

Of Huberdeau, Kadri and Lindholm, IMO Lindholm is by far the best player and the one I'd want most. However, you can't have half of your top six not have chemistry with any of the other two and hope to be successful. And, unfortunately, due to contracts, Lindholm is the one who will likely be gone.

Chicago showed us last year the perfect guys to build a stinker around.
Buddy Robinson, Joey Anderson and a bunch of other guys I barely remember.

Carolina is having defensive issues, and the long-term injury to Pesce isn't going to help. But they don't need a 4th goalie, which would mean they have to send one back, and that would defeat the purpose of Calgary trading Vladar in the first place.

No, They were interested before they traded and signed Horvat.

I didn't see any discussion (may have missed it), on Ian Mitchell (D) being placed on waivers by Boston. Was recently acquired in the Hall trade (IIRC) and an Alberta boy. I don't know much about him.

Exactly, you need overpaid players to rebuild players in a cap floor league.
You just wish the term was a little shorter.

Honestly wouldn't be a bad pick up for the Flames. Would prefer a bottom pairing rotation of Solovyov/Mitchell/Gilbert over Oesterle any day of the week. Likely doesn't happen though with Andersson coming back soon. And who knows about Kylington.

He was basically a contract dump by Chicago, although I believe one of the Boston coaches had some history with him and felt they may be able to do something with him.
He's not better than the Flames best guys paying at AHL.

Seeing some rumors online that Chiarelli might be taking over for Dorian in Ottawa eventually

I'm not sure about that.....he was pretty close to being pouty mcpoutface last season and that was on a bubble playoff team. I really don't think that he's the type of guy to be a good soldier and play like a pro night in and night out on a rebuilding, constantly losing squad.
With that said, he can certainly retire in 2-3 seasons and go sip cocktails on beach anytime he wants and that would be fine with me.

You can talk about his play all you want, but Huberdeau never once pouted last season.
He was true pro. Get out of here with that BS.

What does pouting look like? He definitely seemed unhappy and subdued at times during the season. His energy level was often lacking it seemed.
I don’t know if that is the same as being pouty though.

You sure about that? Whose agent was taking shots at Daryl last season? If Huberdeau didn't approve of those actions, he would have a new agent. You have a problem with the coach go to his office and work things out.
He didn't pout in the media during the season, but as soon as Sutter was let go he was talking about how more minutes, and being used in key situations would help him get his game back. Huberdeau's intensity and confidence also gradually faded throughout last season. As Coleman said in the post game, this team needs to start to hate losing. It needs to lose sleep over it. If Huby and Kadri play that way then I won't have a bad thing to say about either.

He made one comment about Sutter after he was let go thats it.
I am not sure what is wrong with saying he wants to play more and key situations. He did that in Florida and Darryl basically broke him down and made him a plugger here. How is that pouting or taking shots at Darryl?
All offseason he hasn't talked about Darryl outside one comment. He talked about how he has to be better, he lost his confidence and worked with a phycologist.
That sound like someone pouting and blaming the coach or someone taking responsibility for the bad season?
