Well compared to the moves the big spenders make this is indeed small potatoes, but good news none the less. Zaun played very well least year and will be a good compliment to Guillermo Quiroz. Hopefully Quiroz is finally the young catcher that will realize his potential in a Jays uniform. I've had enough of the Angel Martinez, Randy Knorr, and Kevin Cash's of the world.

I am glad they signed him but I am really dissapointed the Jays were not more active. If the young guys don't play well. The Jays will be terrible.

Last year was just about the worst case scenario for the Jays. Even with Delgado now gone, I have a hard time believing that the Jays will be any worse this year than they were last. The addition of Koskie, the return of Halladay, and hopefully better years from the returnees should allow this team to be at least a little better.

I don't see how the team is better this year than they were last year, but ya never know we might all be surprised

The only real loss we suffered was Delgado, who had a rather mediocre season last year. A decent year from Koskie, and some improvements from other offensive players who had down years can replace what Delgado gave us last year. Not that that is saying much, as the offense was not good last year, and likely wont be again this year.

However, Halladay will be back and healthy. Quite Frankly, Halladay is worth more wins to this team than Delgado was. That alone will help this team remain at least even with last year, and probably a little better.

I think they will be roughly the same as last year but at least giving some young kids playing time and therefore giving them a shot to be better int he next couple of years.

This year with Boston and the Yankees they have no chacne to make the play-offs so I like the idea to give some young kids a shot and then set up to make some moves in the next off-season to make a run then.

I agree, but I am personally running out of patience for "JP". He uses the same old phrase year after year but the team is not really going anywhere. This team is no better than last year. I don't see how this team can finish over .500. Its time the Jays add some more money to the budget. The Toronto fans will not support another crappy Jays team.

Why bother? Even if the Jays double their budget they are still 100 million short of the Yankees. Its pointless. My hope for this season is to start to see some young kids develop. Frankly I don't think a wild card or division title is possible in the least. Until MLB fixes itself there's not much to hope for.
