if you forget the contracts and just look at the players, this might actually be one of the deepest and strongest 4 lines we've had in a long time

I like the 4th line so much more than last year.

Sharangovich is looking better every game. His best as a Flame, once he remembers how to hit the net - watch out

I'm liking the teams overall quality of play, but points be damned.. Huberdeau has not been any better than last season. He seems almost incapable of making an easy pass, and is terrifying with the puck on his stick in either zone.

Somehow, Kadri is still 10x worse and just useless at the moment.

Flames have the makings of a very good team yet again but it's going to come down to Huberdeau and Kadri not being net negatives.

Lots to like from the team overall though.

Kadri showed signs tonight. I feel like Backs and Huberdeau play well together…

Good guys win. Creeps from up north lose and give the puck away 10000000000 times. All is good tonight.

This is just false and people are picking out and honing in on the couple of giveaways per game...which every player has.

As a line Huberdeau-Lindholm-Mangiapane seem to be finding some chemistry.

Great game i thought, and an important momentum win, despite some frustrating lapses that thankfully didn't end up costing us. I feel like we're the anti-oilers. Lots of depth, and rely on a solid team game to win. Huberdeau played really good tonight, happy he seems to be shooting more. Always nice to win with your backup in net. Just nice to see everyone buying in and working hard, easy to cheer for.

You will need to explain to me how factoring in contracts suddenly reduces the depth and strength of the forward group.

My favorite thing he did tonight was get ticked off and slam his stick after a stoppage in one of their PPs. Might not seem like anything, but to me it shows the guy cares. Even if he's struggled in Calgary so far, he's playing better this season and he cares. I like that. He's going to have a good season.

Huberdeau looking a lot better than last year. It's the same people crying about him this year that think he was the reason precious Sutter was canned.

He set up Lindholm right in the slot and he dumps it into the corner. Set up Kadri and he whiffs.

Kadri also with a much better effort tonight. He was bad on the PP no doubt.

Don't recall Gaudreau blocking shots to preserve a win.

So so sloppy and yet, they dominated in shots and on the scoreboard.

Only gets better from here!

I've actually really liked everything I've seen from the Flames 4th line. Deuer is awesome, he's bigger than I thought. Greer has no hands, but he moves fast and plays with some fire, so he matches everyone else on the line and they seem to have good shifts. I missed most of the second and all the goals in the third, but the team looked better than they did most nights last year to my eye.

It's like this, you see. When a player is overpaid, the rules require him to carry his excess salary around in a sack on his back during the game.

In nickels.

That really makes a guy slow.
