If DD won the Grey Cup with Maier that could go down as the greatest coaching job in sports history not just CFL.
Crandell was a terrible QB as well but he would be a big upgrade over Maier right now at age 50, let alone when he was still in his prime.

Would be a fitting end to the season the CFL crowing the 6-12 Stampeders are champs.

Safe to say that's not going to happen. Even if the Stamps make the playoffs as a 6 win team I would say their chances of beating the Lions, Bombers, and Argos in succession are as close to zero as there is. Lions have manhandled the Stamps this season while the Stamps haven't beaten the Bombers for over three seasons now going back to when Bo was not washed. Lions could realistically rest most of their starters and still beat the Stamps with Dane Evans and their backup receivers. This is a really, really bad Stampeders team who's only in the playoff race because the Eskimos and Riders are as bad or worse.

A dull product on the field combined with an old stadium certainly will have a drag on attendance...Aside from Ottawa, pretty good news regarding attendance figures though.
