I think they need to really go different with the lines. Try something totally different.

I don't really care for line numbers when it comes to 1-3.

Mangiapane - Kadri - Lindholm
Huberdeau - Sharangovich - Coronato
Ruzicka - Backlund - Coleman
Greer - Dube - Duehr

I don’t think the Flames have good enough forwards for it to matter all that much.

Worthwhile contribution.

Don’t see Lindholm going RW. Not when center is out weakest position to begin with.

Lots of options this year, I think we will see quite a bit of different line combos.

Huby - Kadri - Lindholm
Coleman - Backlund - Mang
Sharangovich - Ruzicka - Coronato
Greer - Dube - Duehr

Gotta find some chemistry with this group of players, which usually takes time to develop.

I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, however I think their bigger issue is lacking top 9 offensive talent.

Trade everyone that has value between now and the deadline and accumulate some high picks and other teams upper echelon prospects.

Just my nickels worth…

Kadri is not the kind of guy that would respond well to being benched. He is a pouty brat. You just have to try and let him work through it unfortunately.

Huberdeau/Lindholm/Shangovich - line was not given enough time. Huska took a page out of Sutter's playbook here.
Mangiapane/Kadri/Coronato. - Look, Kadri has been poo this year but if this team is going to succeed you have to get him going. Give him the young rookie to hopefully energize him and another energy player on the other side that can score.
Dube/Backlund/Coleman. - Backlund and Coleman just work and I have seen nothing to make me think Dube is nothing more than a good 3rd line forward.
Greer/Ruzicka/Duehr - I like the idea of giving Ruzicka more reps at centre and he has Duehr on his wing that can score. Greer can bang and get pucks in the corners.

The thing is no matter what lines Huska decides to go with he needs to give them more than a few games before hitting the damn blender.

The line combinations I'd like to see involves most of the current Flames players playing on other teams.

This current roster just doesn't have what it takes so it doesn't matter how you mix the lines. You can rearrange a bunch of hotdogs however you want but no matter how hard you try, those hotdogs won't become a steak dinner.

If you’re switching Backlund and Lindholm then you really have to make a hard decision that Lindy isn’t the guy you invest in long term as a #1 centre. The type of first line centres need to create offence on a consistent basis. You simply can’t rush a decision to sign him at this point. The season is very early but he hasn’t been anything near dynamic since the departure of Johnny and Tkachuk.

I’m all for trying new line combos and getting guys going but they have to be smart decisions. What they deployed in Detroit yesterday was not good.

I will say one thing. Huberdeau has 0 chemistry with many. But holy god is he bad with Kadri and Dube. No way can they ever play together again.

This would be lineup next game.

Huberdeau Lindholm Caronato
Coleman Backlund Mangiapane
Ruzicka Kadri Dube
Greer Sharongovich Duehr

I wouldn’t be against putting Hunt in. And scratching someone. Greer likely. Hunt on the Center spot. Sharongovich up in the lineup. He’s getting killed on the draws. Maybe we move Kadri to a wing.

Huberdeau-Backlund-Coronato (Backs seems to be the centre who has had the best chemistry with Huberdeau and can compensate for some of the turnovers, and Coronato provides a right shot to the trio, as well as someone who can properly one-time Huby's set-ups).

Mangiapane-Lindholm-Duehr (some scoring, some puck retrieval, some 2-way prowess, lots of turnovers forced in the offensive zone with the ability to capitalize on them).

Dube-Kadri-Sharangovich (Kadri has played best so far with Dube, probably because Dube's speed backs up the D so that they don't just stand Kadri up at the blueline, and another speedster with some skill on RW would further facilitate Kadri's zone entries).

Greer-Ruzicka-Coleman (Coleman on the 4th line isn't ideal, but he hasn't looked capable of playing higher in the lineup so far this season).

Come to think of it, you could also swap Duehr and Sharangovich.

I like the look of those lines. It does seem like Huska has been hesitant to give Coronato a look with Huberdeau. Which is strange because he seems like the type of player that Huberdeau has excelled with in the past… good speed, quick release on a heavy shot, good forechecker and he makes himself open in scoring areas.

Maybe it’s just that he’s trying to shelter Coronato.

I honestly bet they could.

Is it too early to start prepare for future and develop our younger players and check what kind of players we have in the organization? Can Ruzicka, Coronato, Duehr become our main offensive guys in the future?

Huberdeau - Ruzicka - Lindholm
Just wants to see if Ruzicka can fill Monahan's role. Lindholm is good at forecheck and one of the couple players can win a board battles, so keep him as RW. And Ruzicka may have good skill that can play "give and go" with Huberdeau.
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coronato
Coronato is smart player and has skill like Tkachuk. So I hope he can get a few points.
Dube - Kadri - Duehr
A little bit energy line, can forecheck and can score in rush plays.
Greer-Sharangovich-Coleman
Hope they get our shut down line. Not much scoring but they can play safe.

I'm glad for the top 6 combinations we saw last game... and they did not work. I'd like to see those 2 top lines now that we are at home and can shelter lines 3 and 4 as/if required.

5 games in and I've hated the pairing of Zadorov-Weegar again.

When Andersson comes back, I'd like him to be reunited with Weegar.

Weegar-Andersson
Hannifin-Tanev
Zadorob- Gilbert/Oesterlie

Weegar was at his best last year with Andersson. We are paying his 6.75; be a top pairing D.

Hanifin's best year was when he was paired with Tanev. This pairing wasn't strong in Detroit on Sunday, but Im confident long-term they can be a great 2nd pair.

3rd pairing is scary, but Zadorov is a #5 D...he can play the 4 spot at times, but not consistently without major gaffs. Give this a try Lambert/Huska
