people saying Dak outduels Herbert, perhaps let Herbert play the soft Chargers D, not a valid comparison. The Chargers are who we thought they were, Herbert is hopefully content with his big contract, that franchise isn't going to win anything. J Bosa is so overrated.

Yeah Dak > Herbert is a wild take, whoever on the internets is saying that. The one I'll never get is people who'd take Herbert over Burrow. I'm going Joe every time there if I'm starting a franchise.

I mean Dak was better than Herbert last night. Now there isn't a single valid argument that Dak is better overall, but last night Herbert missed a bunch of easy throws and probably left 17+ points on the board, while Dak was efficient and avoided mistakes.

I don't know if it's the Charger stink or just that Herbert is simply less than the sum of his parts. It's not like he hasn't been surrounded by quality talent his entire career there as they have lots of nice pieces on offense and defense. He puts up great numbers but they don't translate to a lot of wins. Some QB's simply have that 'it factor' and so far I don't think he has that.

If Herbert was in the NHL he'd be an Oiler. Nice skill package, puts up pretty stats. Gets to watch Mahomes and Burrow play in the playoffs....

Same as at Oregon really. Kind of seems like a Jay Cutler type without the crappy attitude

I would like to see Herbert on a team with a decent defense and a good coach first before i would say he is a guy who puts up points but isn't a winner. Eli Manning has 2 rings, if he goes to the Chargers, he has none. the Charger stink is very real sadly

I think a good way to judge a QB is how they are at crunch time, namely the two minute drill. How is he on those drives?

I don't know about the two minute drill but I recall that during crunch time on Monday the broadcast brought up a stat showing that Herbert had the most game winning drives amongst QBs over the last three seasons.

Anthony Richardson out for the season.

Wonder if they can out tank the Cardinals, Bears and Panthers could end up with Marvin Harrison Jr.

The colts are a better team with whomever richardson’s backup is. If Taylor is healthy and playing as well they’re likely to end in that 8-14th pick area.

Let's not forget the Patriots in the race to the bottom. Have to figure that eventually some teams might Ole the Panthers in an attempt to let them make a late charge up the standings since the Bears own their pick.

Plus Denver who might have half their roster on the trade block. Certainly they can just make Russ work at WalMart for life to get their money's worth out of him.

Forgot about the Broncos and Pats.

The NFL might have a better tanking power ranking this year than top tier teams.

1.Panthers
2.Bears
3.Cardinals
4.Patriots
5.Broncos
6.Giants
7.Vikings

I've seen too many times where he can't make a touch throw to an open guy. He whizzed like 3 piss missiles over Keenan Allen's head in the end zone in the playoff melt down last year.

Even on Monday he missed Him twice for potential huge gains trying to throw too hard.

I'm not sure playcalling and coaching can fix this. I mean it's his 4th year and he's still doing this.

Mecole Hardman back to the Chiefs.

Also sounds like Henry could be traded. His days as a top RB are coming to an end 30 plus back.

Seems like "Unwanted player X" plus 7th rounder for a 6th rounder is all the rage this trade deadline.

I don't understand the point of a trade deadline in late October anyway. Why not push it back to week 12 or so?

It used to be week 6 I believe so week 8 is progress. I don't believe the NFL is a fan of bad or tanking teams selling off players as is done in the NHL, MLB, NBA, etc so I wouldn't expect things to change for a while.

Later deadline also makes less sense in the NFL because of the time needed to learn a playbook. Outside of special teams guys it's hard to expect a guy traded in week 12 to really make an impact without a few weeks to learn the playbook.
