Extra time loss, pointless Huberdeau, bad goal Markstrom, outshot opponents and lost.. why even fire Sutter? Nothing has changed.

Honeslty don't think he was as bad as those cherry picked plays would make it seem. Any play can look bad if you pick 5 or 6 bad plays out of a game.

The 2-1 play was bad...but outside of that I see lots of plays where he's throwing the puck into an open area where he's expecting guys to move into it or where he's passed the puck when a defender is already right on him.

One thing that's been an issue with this team for 3 seasons now (outside of the top line in 21-22) is that they are very stationary in the offensive zone.

You need to move to the open areas to create space and Flames are terrible at that at times.

Context is important here. How many shootout attempts has Coronato taken? Or even Mangiapane?

i like Lindholm but an 8 year deal around 9.5 M is not that apppealing. you see al the other teams signing their players to 8 year deals, difference is they are early 20's not 30. Such a sad franchise. I do like Conroy and want him to succeed but BT screwed this team for at least 5 years,

I don’t mind Huberdeau or Sharangovich in the shootout.

Ruzicka actually looks like the most poised on the PP right now. Hopefully he keeps it up and continues to earn the more ice-time.

I think Sharangovich needs a bit more time before we can fully judge him. I think he will earn his way up the lineup soon enough.

The lines don’t seem to have a lot of chemistry. Need to work on making adjustments.

PP in general was frustrating. A legit PP QB would go a long way to improve things.

Don’t like Kadri in any shape or form.

It is only been it 3 games. They have a good group of guys they just have to put it together. If any of those guys scored or won in overtime we wouldn't be talking about this loss.

The team played better overall and played a little closer to 60 minutes. We just need to take advantage of our opportunities.

It's because many don't really like this team in its current iteration. Guys like gaudreau, chucky and monahan were much easier to cheer for because we saw them begin and grow their careers here.

Kadri and hubrdeau are playing like mercenaries on their retirement contracts. They signed here because we paid the most and fans can tell by their play.
I dont want to watch these guys coast for the next decade.

From what I have heard the Flames are not going over $9M AAV. If Lindholm won't budge I expect he will get traded eventually.

I'd feel pretty good about andersson, sharangovich, coronato

I'll give Huska a little credit for not using Backlund. But if they went to a fourth round, who knows he might've.

Edit: Ruzicka would've also been a good pick given the game he had.

I feel like we are applauding Huberdeau for very basic hockey plays when we need an elite player that creates something out of nothing. If Huberdeau can't be that, then the Flames are just fooling themselves trying to compete with this roster.

How many years did we spend trying to find a top line C? They are incredibly rare outside of the top spots in the draft. I expect 31 other NHL GMs would be trying to extend Lindholm if in Conroy shoes.

I don't see Huby coasting, he is a guy that works hard and clearly wants to win. He is the opposite of Kadri who has won and now floats around on his retirement deal. Remember when Kadri was on Toronto and Colorado and he was such an annoying prick to play against?? I can't remember seeing that once since coming here. Not fn once. He is just tuned out.

I'm wondering as well why I even bother with PGTs after a loss. Not a lot of discussion. More just a thread to vent about the same old stuff.

It's Game 3. And the team is 1-1-1. Can't tell at all by this thread.

It's Game 3. And the team is 1-1-1. Can't tell at all by this thread.

1-1-1 in three games in which they had a lead.

What did we say about how changing the outcome of a couple of those 17 OT/SO losses last season could've got them into the playoffs? We're already siphoning those points away early.

If it is not about money I wonder if there's a team he wants to go to. He seems to be holding up for a reason. Maybe he wants to play with Johnny or something or just wants to go to the States. Obviously the Flames haven't got good offers for him or they would have done something.

I actually agree and myself included went too Debbie Downer tonight. It was just this game, that weak goal that was the deciding goal, Kadri being an idiot and not giving a F, just drags you down. I still have hope though dammit.
