Default Calgary Flames 2 - Pittsburgh Penguins 5

Loss #1.

Markstrom was our best player again tonight.

First 2 periods were pretty good. That 3rd period was a disaster off the hop.

Bounce back.

Blech. Between this and the Cavs loss, bad day for Calgary pro sports.

The Flames seem to have better seasons when they start 1-1 anyways

Said it in the game thread.... bad habits die hard.

They are a work in progress.

Mangi, Hanifin, and Sharagovich have all stood out as particularly poor.

They had the game in control.

Pretty disappointing. But I guess good to learn these lessons early on?

Mangiapane isn't good.

Good 2 periods and Mangiapane turnover costs us.

Scoring is a concern. I’d expected some defensive issues. At least it was more fun to watch than last season.

Survived by Markstrom in the first game, exposed in the second.

Lots of work to do.

Sharangovich leaves a lot to be desired.

Can't blame the coach. Can't blame the goalie. Can't blame bad luck.

Don’t think they were ever in control.

Markstrom kept them in early. Could have been 3-0.

They played well the last 5 minutes of the second.

That’s about it.

A lot of players unnoticeable tonight. A few guys noticeable in all of the wrong ways. Kadri, Mangiapane, Dube and Hanifin were absolutely brutal.

Up by 1 and your goalie has been your best player is hardly in control.

Traded current New Jersey Devils top line RW, and Flames leading scorer last year (73 points!) for him and a 3rd round pick. Madness!

Gamebreakers. Some teams have 3-4, some teams have zero.

Coronato goal = good

3rd period = bad

Seems like the team has no game breakers like we were told last year but I'm hoping it's only been two games and that will be proven wrong.

Hopefully Huska can figure out that train wreck cause in the third and make adjustments.
