The Twins have a ton of talented lefties so it makes some sense to go with Kikuchi. Definitely should be using him this series in some capacity.

I think Gausman is tipping his pitches. Watch the Twins' pitcher, he shields the ball before throwing it. Gausman is not. He is exposing the ball at his waist long before he throws it.

It's not about giving them the benefit of the doubt. It's way different to hope for the team as opposed to hoping they fail so management doesn't get "let off the hook", which is what you said.
I have my doubts about this team. But that's different from actually hoping they lose for...reasons.
