Actually, I was bored and just wanted to see what kind of crazy ideas people can think up of.

I know better than to ask CP for any kind of advice

If this meeting is taking place in Calgary you obviously have to go dressed like JR Ewing. Your best cowboy hat and boots!

I'm surprise no one has mentioned a dozen escorts yet.

I like the cape and cane idea, but I would suggest a monocle and tophat to complete the aristocrat look.

Cape, cane, top hat monocle, white gloves and shoes, and nothing else!

Is it just for one event, or do you have to get yourself a whole new wardrobe with that money?

OK OK, on a SERIOUS note: ALWAYS strive for classic elegance rather than flamboyant fashion! You don't have to dress expensive to LOOK expensive (but with a $15,000 budget...what the heck!).

For men, a tailored suit, complete with tie and cufflinks. Stick with subdued colours for the suit (not necessarily black) but liven it up a bit with the shirt/tie combo. Be "well coiffed" with a stylish haircut and maybe even a manly manicure (~gasp~). Other than the cufflinks, avoid jewellery. Oh, and make sure your shoes are clean and polished.

For women, if it's an afternoon function, you can't go wrong with a Chanel suit, perhaps in grey or navy, again "funking" it up a bit with a brightly coloured silk blouse. Remember, an inch above the knee is the "professional rule" for skirt hems. Keep the heels high but not hooker high. Neutral stockings are the rule for daytime wear.

Less is more when it comes to make up and hairstyle and keep the nail polish to soft muted colours, rather than CFM red.

If it's an evening gathering, a woman can never go wrong with the "little black dress" (think Audrey Hepburn).

For jewellery, think pearls or simple gold accessories.

With regards to scent...mind the rule: walk through it...don't BATHE in it!!!

Am now taking applications!

What about a nice watch?

for men, I would suggest avoiding your standard Rolex (too common), breitling (too bling), Omega (sporty). Go with Patek Phillipe or something similar. Pateks are usually classic in design and scream taste. Make sure it's a round face watch with dark colored crocodile strap.

Yep, forgot about the watch. Agree with the above, not too flashy or pretentious.

Movados work too (for men and women)!

Good lord that's a lot of dough for one get-up. I would definitely buy a watch Other than that, it depends on the occasion. Will they be wearing suits? Tuxes? Seems to me you want to fit in more than show off.

Yup. Think of it as an event for celebs and the super rich. And yes, they will be wearing suits or tuxes.

I probably grab something from Calvin Klein's Spring 2007 Collection. The one thing about Calvin Klein is that they always make men look good. Consistantly.

I'd think about something like this:

Maybe pair it up with a subtle watch. And, because it's an outdoor event, two cigars. Essentials are, non-flashy cufflinks, money clip, and inside breast pocket cigar clip. Also, purchase outfit specific underwear prior to event. Get on a shaving schedule aligned to coincide perfectly for the event and do not deviate. Get haircut 3 days prior to event. 4 if your hair doesn't grow very fast. Get your nails done. Start flossing (and I mean actually flossing) a week beforehand, so your gums will be nice by event day. And by nice i don't mean inflamed.

I think that's about all I'd do. I'd probably hire an escort to accompany me as well.

I'll take Armani or Boss over Calvin anyday.

In today's society, I would do the whole cigar thing, but I'm a woman so that's probably a good thing.

Agree wholeheartedly with the schedule.

With respect to an "escort", that would be a VERY BIG NO unless you are told specifically to bring a guest!

For me, I've got a sizeable beard that I need to coordinate around, so I would opt toward the tweedier end of the spectrum. Single-breasted suit (Zegna or Sander) with a subtle summer-weight grey-brown tweed, preferrably a herringbone weave. White french-cuff shirt, subtle links. Possibly opt for a wool tie... I guess it's pretty much the european intellectual look, but then I'm not sure anyone would hire me to meet any VIPs.
