No one should surprised if Wolf is sent down.

And no one should be surprised if he’s called up multiple times to play a game if the Flames want him to.

Agree with this. Huberdeau seems ineffective without the puck and when you play with Kadri that's not a good thing.

If Hunt and Rooney give the team the best chance to win, so be it. But if they make the team over any of the prospects, I think we have to re-evaluate the quality of our prospect pool.

"Any of the prospects"? Most prospects have already been cut.

Hunt and Rooney are probably better options for playing on the fourth line; the Flames's higher-end prospects like Coronato, Zary, Pelletier and Honzek need to be playing more mins than they would get on the fourth line.

Besides that, Hunt has had a really impressive camp.

I hope we see Duehr on the top line a few times. I think he would be a fit. I am hoping for big things from him.

I really think Zary deserves a long look. He has been solid.

I think the first line should have a rotation of RWers depending on matchups, who is feeling hot, or who can develop the best chemistry with Huberdeau and Lindholm.

Duehr, Coronato, Sharangovich, Mangiapane, and maybe Dube are prime candidates for this position. With that many players, one has gotta stick. My guess would be Coronato.

Not sure about Rooney, but I think Hunt has proven he’s in the top 12 forwards so far. I reallly don’t mind him as a 4th liner or extra forward

Huberdeau-Lindholm-Coronato
Ruzicka-Kadri-Sharangovich
Mangiapane-Backlund-Dube
Coleman-Hunt-Duehr

I think Zary is close but don’t like him on the 4th line or sitting in the press box. He is 1st call up for top 9 mins IMO.

Zary just turned 22 and has played two season in the AHL, I don't think limited minutes dressed or sitting a few games is going to be the worse thing instead of the AHL. Getting in NHL practise, being part of the professional routine around seasoned pros is going to be beneficial to his development as well. Sure going to the AHL and putting up a dominate season would be great, as he had major consistency issues last year, but there are still benefits to him being in the NHL, even in a limited capacity as a rookie.

22 years old, two AHL seasons... think that's okay to do.

I could get on board with those lines

IMO, Kadri and Huerdeau showed chemistry on the PP, and it looked like they had some chemistry in preseason.

Here are the Kadri - Huberdeau combinations this season:
Dube - Kadri - Huberdeau
36:07min, 5GF, 0GA, 69.7%xG, 4.21xGF, 1.83xGA
Ritchie - Kadri - Huberdeau
33:17min, 2GF, 2GA, 68.4%xG, 4.67xGF, 2.15xGA
Huberdeau - Kadri - Toffoli
21:13min, 2GF, 0GA, 64.7%xG, 3.2xGF, 1.75xGA
Pelletier - Kadri - Huberdeau
153:02min, 5GF, 7GA, 59.1%xG, 3.58xGF, 2.48xGA
Lucic - Kadri - Huberdeau
187:29min, 12GF, 7GA, 49.7%xG, 2.49xGF, 2.52xGA
Mangiapane - Kadri - Huberdeau
47:08min, 1GF, 5GA, 36.5%xG, 2.16xGF, 3.75xGA
Aside from Lucic, and Mangiapane those combinations shown very good results.
Some of those stats surprise me because I did not see much positivity of a Kadri/Huberdeau pairing. The eye test showed me two players that didn't really gel at all. Missed passes, going offside, shaking heads as they skated back to the bench, etc. A lot of frustrating games for me watching Sutter keep those two together. And yes Huberdeau struggled, but it's not like Kadri was bringing out the best in him, either.

I think the goal should be to put your best offensive winger with a center that can score and complement him. For me, that's easily Lindholm. I really hope Huska keeps them together for an extended period of time. Because if they do gel that could be a lethal offensive duo.

I hate trading draft picks. It's obvious that players like Solovyov and Wolf are available in the 7th round. They may not be stars but they look like they can play in the NHL. Why wouldn't you want a chance to have someone like that?

It's fine if he starts there to get his legs under him

But I don't see what another full season in the A does for Dustin Wolf. He's been there, done that. Been dubbed the top guy at his position twice.

He needs to be play nhl games soon and ultimately should be promoted full time by the end of the season.

My problem with that first line is two RS playing with Huberdeau who made it clear he struggled with that when he was used to setting up LS. I think to get the most out of Huby I think you have to have a LS shooter.

My concern with Sharangovich, is why was he even benched last season with the devil's? Does he become too complacent? I'm just trying to figure it out

I don't mind your take. I was of a similar opinion, but a lot of my opinion was based on being frustrated with the Lucic combo. The bottom line was that when we needed a comeback 5 on 5 too many lines went missing. I'm personally attributing a lot of it to a down year for both Kadri and Huberdeau.

IMO Lindholm has less chemistry with Huberdeau than Kadri. I mostly base it on watching them under Sutter and in preseason. Lindholm doesn't drive the net with enough speed to generate passing lanes. The offense I saw was mostly based on the cycle, and they didn't have any in transition. I really liked Kadri finding Huberdeau with good passes in the Canucks game. I didn't see much from the Huberdeau Lindholm line in the game against the Oilers, or the Canucks, but I could be misremembering.

Because they acquired Meier. With Bratt also on that side he got pushed down to a bottom 6 role and they had better suited players for that role. I think his confidence was totally shot when they made that deal. I also think the Devil's are going to regret this deal.
