I care because I have watched a bunch of different pre-season games and the officiating has been laughably bad. It would be nice if the league would actually address what has been an issue for years now by having some kind of accountability for officials instead of backing them no matter what they do.

pretty quiet game
But also unfortunate that when they did make good plays, it always seemed to be Hanifin who got set up - good defender, but zero offense, and a butter-soft,slow-to-get-off shot. He could have had 4 goals tonight if he had any kind of shot at all

Has the season started yet? 10-0, or 0–10 who cares.
12 days to go.

Was that just a replay of one of our games from last year?

True, but there’s something to practicing like you play. They’re on home ice against a bunch of schlubs, I’m not going to make excuses for our veteran players to coast and not do anything all night. None of the top forwards made plays tonight. No skill on display. That’s disappointing.

Why'd he revert to Tanguay after scoring two beauties that other game?

Don’t agree at all. Effort isn’t the problem but rather skill and chemistry. They need to figure this out because the excuses from last year are gone. This is strictly on the players. Not saying they can’t or won’t, but not a great look going down to the Oilers B squad.

The over-reactions are hilarious
The Oilers never had a sniff, the whole game. The Backlund goal should have counted, and then it's 2-0 with 3 minutes left.
Oh no, they lost an OT game in the pre-season... FIRE EVERYBODY!!!

Tonight, it looked really hard for our top 9 to generate offence, not much chemistry. But it’s just the preseason. We weren’t trying, at all. Right?

After that sequence of insanity in the end game, the Flames have earned the right to win every game against this season against them ... shine on you crazy flames and get it done.

Then bitch to the head of officiating I watched an uninspired Flames against a bunch of Oilers that will barely play this season, a nothing game with a fluke result. It was a nothing pre season match.

Why does Blake Coleman always have to be the centre of goal reviews?
It’s like it’s his mantra.

No one is saying that.
This game looked a lot like last year. Shot volume, no skill on display. Flames gave up next to nothing to a farm team, and Vladar looked good.
Would have liked to have seen some offensive flair from our “new look” is all. It’s not unfounded criticism.

Fair. But it is nevertheless annoying to see such a similar result of freak misfortune unfold reminiscent of recent seasons where the zebras had a hand in an Oilers win they probably didn't deserve.
Can we stop helping these greasy, disgusting clowns overcome their inherent No Goodness.
They got 4 first overalls in 6 years. They are owed no help for another century.
