Yeah, Solovyov stood out to me in the first.
Made some good plays, and looks decent on the transition.

That period sucked. Looked exactly like last season, which is to say unlike the other periods so far this pre-season.
Disagree. They are moving the puck to the center of the ice, and passing cross-crease MUCH more than last year. No goals yet, sure. But not the same kind of play in the offensive zone, at all.

Those are you 6 and 7 guys as of right now. Gilbert may push for a spot as well.
I would think Gilbert is ahead of both of them, on seniority alone. They will have to play past him to get the spots. But they are certainly doing their part.
As someone said though, feeling a lot better about our defensive depth than I was before camp started. Which helps immensely when considering a Hanifin trade.

I didn’t see much of that in period 1.
I have throughout the pre-season, definite positives there - but so far tonight? Bleh.
He'll cry himself to sleep tonight...on his huge pillow
Oy, that's was offside...
I haven't seen that in a while, but that's a funny movie. Has a great Alan Arkin role playing a modern progressive captain of the police department, but the cop played by Anthony LaPaglia wants the old school angry captain. Here's a great scene where Arkin tries to deliver that role just to satisfy LaPaglia.
RIP Alan, you were a legend.
