Nah, Peter runs into Ted, and absorbs his powers. He confronts Sylar in NYC and they have a matrix like fight. However Peter still not knowing how to fully control those powers unleashes Ted's Nuclear abilities on Sylar which causes the explosion. Afterall Sylar already kicked Peter around in a power fight, so Peter's going to have to bring the heavy artiliary this time. Somehow the fault is placed on Sylar who's assumed as being dead.

Surely they haven't run out of ideas already, have they? Ted IS a minor character at this point in the series, nowhere near tied in to the destruction of NY as say Peter, Nathan, Hiro, and a host of others. He didn't even have any idea what the hell was going on until Bennett told him that he and Matt had to go to NYC.

Given the twists and turns of the series, and given the popularity of the show, I doubt they're going to let Ted be the one to help destroy NYC. Too predictable, and an idea that is going to leave the show grasping for straws. Sylar, Molly, and other characters are too important for Ted to catalyze the ending.
It may be obvious that Peter will gain the power from Ted. There is lots of room for creativity in how the characters are brought together and what sitution requires Ted to use his powers around Peter and then have Peter absorb them.

Yes Ted is a minor character, but his role in the final destruction doesnt necessarily involve much screen time. Makes perfect sense.

Yes it is possible Molly can also create nukes, but there is no evidence to support this. In fact, the only evidence we have is that she can somehow stop the nuclear explosion... the exact opposite of creating nukes.

Since we're all throwing lawn darts at Tim Kring's crystal ball, here's mine.

Molly's power: The power to remove someone's power and make them "normal" again. Future Mohinder alluded to the fact it was an impossible feat, why not achieve this via a "power"?

Sounds to me like there are a lot of people here who think that NYC is still going to blow up. I don't think that the 5 years in the future episode is really going to be the truth of how this season concludes.

Besides after this season it's a new story arc. I was reading Wired at the airport on Monday and they had an interview with Kring. I guess the second season is going to follow some of the family bloodlines of all these people with powers. Like Hiro's family and the Petrelli's.

They save NYC from the explosion in my mind.

Like a flashback story arc with Takei (Sulu) and Linderman and Petrelli's mother etc.?
I agree re NYC, the whole season was set against that. Kind of an anti climax if they fail in that regard.

That's what I think her power will be too. But that doesn't entirely make sense, since in the episode it seems like Sylar has DL's power and Candice's power, I can only imagine he would have Molly's power (because they were grouped together so conveniently by "The 3" Hiro needed).

Well it seems pretty obvious that the NYC won't explode. We were just debating how the alternate future that created the explosion happened. Not necessarily what will happen on that last episode.... the buildup has been to stop the explosion and the fact that Isaac says that something he does is responble for stopping Sylar is a pretty big tip off that the alternate future doesnt really happen.

That's interesting ... I think it opens up many more interesting stories if NYC does get blown up rather than the other way around. That being said, I think something will still happen but maybe not to the extent of the entire city blowing up.

I agree, although it does seem obvious that it wont blow up, this show seems to be pretty big on the twists so you never know...

I suppose that's a possibility if she survived undetected in the alternate future. Future Hiro brought her to Bennet sometime after the explosion - if Homeland Security or Nathan/Sylar knew about her, she likely would have been delivered to Mohinder to use for research towards a cure.

Changing paths for a minute - do you guys really think Linderman has his own plans for some characters while simultaneously heading up "The Company" that HRG worked for and Thompson works for? I'm trying to figure out why he would choose to deal with some players directly (Natahn but not Peter, Thompson but not HRG, Niki/Jessica but not Hiro, Micah but not Parkman) and leave others to the company. It's like trying to figure out a chess game.

Can't wait for tomorrow's episode.

Man this show is insanely awesome. I cant really keep up with all the twists and turns but I cant wait to find out how it all turns out. The Hiro storyline is by far the most interesting and I hope we get some closure before the summer hiatus.

Last night was awsome, I am suprised that Linderman is now dead. I thought that he would go on for a while to lead Nathan.
Also I am a little disapointed in Molly, after all the hype that she can kill Sylar this power is lame, the only thing that she can kill him in is hide and seek.
Hiro and his Dad were awsome, I love Sulu as his Dad. Also I am wondering if this is how Ando dies and not in the blast, or he is the one that stops Sylar while he is going nuclear.
I cannot wait until next week, I have to see how it ends.

At least over the summer they will give us something cool. NBC is going to do another show called Hereos Origins and it is going to be about 6 new hereos and at the end we get to vote for our favorite and they will go in to season 2. http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-nb...,5536579.story

last night was another brilliant episode.

they didn't say that Molly could kill Sylar, they said that she was the only one that could stop him (implying that she was the only one who could locate him, IMO).

I heard about the spinoff. I probably watch it. I also heard that the last episode will include the first couple minutes of episode 1, season 2, which features a huge twist (big surprise there).

Default Heroes Season 1 winding down

SPOILER WARNING! SPOILER WARNING!

This show is great. I love how at the start of the season all the heroes had seemingly different paths and arcs, and yet over the season, they've all been gradually intertwined, leading up to next week's climatic point.

Interesting how it seemingly appears that Sylar is in fact the bomb, yet in the future they mention it was not in fact Sylar, but Peter who blew up. Is this still the case?

Also, will we get to see what powers Hiro's dad and Peter's mom have before the season ends? Or will that be saved for a later time.

I haven't been this excited about a season finale in a long time! Let's hope it's a good'er!

Amazing how many characters bought it last night. Given how quickly some characters have met their demise in quick scenes, I'm starting to wonder how Sylar will meet his demise. A quick stab of a katana would almost seem..... anticlimactic?

Heroes goes on out here at 8PM on Global (the usual slot I watch), as well as 9PM on NBC. I was watching the Ottawa-Buffalo game, and before I knew it, the clock read 8:35 and I absolutely FREAKED OUT. A little embarassing, but I just thought it was funny since I've never acted this way about any show before. I was SO relieved when I frantically searched the guide and saw that NBC would have it on again at 9.

I thought about that too. I think Peter and Hiro will somehow join forces. Its at the point where Peter and Sylar almost have to fight in a big special-effects season finale blowout. The fans want that (at least I do) and Peters comment last episode about having doubts about being able to face Sylar again was foreshadowing this. It'll be a big battle where Sylar almost wins, but Hiro comes to save the day at the last second -- that's my guess.
