I mean you can't deny that their bullpen is one of the best in baseball, as is their rotation. Put any of the back end starters in the bullpen and you have a crazy strong pitching staff for the playoffs. Their defense is very good, especially in the outfield.

However, their offense has been suspect all year, so there's the weak link. If the volatile guys like Springer, Vlad, Kirk, and Chapman heat up, and everyone else does what they normally do, all of a sudden it's a scary team in the playoffs.

Have good pitching and baseball fundamentals, and then get hot at the right time. It's not that far fetched.

I agree with all of that except putting Vladdy in the "volatile" category. Volatile infers that he has hot and cold streaks. He's just not good this season, period.

Oh absolutely, it could happen.

But you could make a similar argument for any of the teams that make the playoffs.

Jays will have to win 4 separate series vs quality opposition. Look at the stacked rosters of Baltimore, Houston, etc. Sure the Jays are capable of getting past them if everything goes right... but everything has to go right.

Sure Houston and Baltimore have very nice lineups but I’d take our pitching over theirs. Houston because of their injuries and Baltimore because well they’re just not very good pitching and now Bautista out hurts them.

If Vladdy could just get hot for 1 month the Jays are as dangerous as anyone in the AL.

But thats a big IF

A couple of wins against the Royals and now we are World Series threats. The roller coaster ride of being a Jays fan! Just kidding. If you make the playoffs, anything can happen.

I haven’t really seen them, at any point, as being the best team in the AL East so it’s hard for me to really envision them as a legit contender.

I'll say it before and will say it again, even as a Jays fan, I've never been so unenthusiastic at their chances of winning it all when they're contending this late in the season. They simply haven't got a string of solid wins all year. Their offense looks anemic. Certainly anything can happen but signs are they won't go far.

We swept the Braves anything can obviously happen. Yes Oakland and KC are bad teams but they’ve taken series against our rivals too. I think Tampa was the best team in the division but losing their best pitcher and their best hitter for the year takes a lot out of them. Baltimore is ofc good (and have a brighter future than us with their farm) but the difference on our record is really a lot about luck. Baltimore has had a lot of it and it’s not exactly a sustainable stat. I think next year and on Baltimore should be better provided their ownership doesn’t cheap out but this year I just have a hard time seeing them as that much better head to head than the Jays.

I love sports so much. Don't get to catch a minute of jays games for a week, then come home for the only bit I get to watch. So pumped to finally relax and watch sports.

0-0 top of the 6th, beauty. Get all settled in - triple, rbi double, 1-0, rbi single 2-0. I ****ing hate everything most of the time when I watch sports, lol. Why do I do it?

The Jays have folded like a cheap suit against Ragans so far. Not a very impressive showing from the bats while Berrios did everything in his power to keep them in it.

I was sort of thinking that they might have wanted to walk Witt to put guys on first and third with Perez coming up. It might have been a bit early to do that and Witt could have stolen second but he’s just such a tough out.

Wtf? I've never seen anything like it. The pitcher slips twice, throws 3 wild pitches and the jays score 2
