I feel like even if the Blue Jays got rid of J Schneider and hired a new manager, said new manager would still be overly reliant on analytics and as a result "overmanage" in game. That seems to be the style that Atkkns and Shapiro covet. I'm not confident they would replace him with someone who is inarguably better at the job, so like, you know, whatever.

If they miss, Shatkin's job should be in question too.

Yes, Schneider has made some mistakes, but to me anyway, he seems to have the right relationship with the players and in baseball, I think that is #1. Ball players spend more time than any other sport together so it's important to have someone who is relatable to the players.

Yes having a good relationship with the players is a good thing. But you also have to be able to manage the game. Not Babe Schneider isn't good at managing the game.

It really shouldn't.
Shapiro and Atkins have build a strong pipeline and framework for the Blue Jays which should be the goal.
Even if they miss this season 3 teams will be making the playoffs with a worse record than they have and it's because they play in the stupidest division in Sports. They have the 9th best record in baseball (last year the 8th best record).
Firing the management staff of a team that's likely to win 90 games for the third straight season, and finish top 10 each of those seasons, is pretty laughable.

9th place with the 9th highest payroll doesn't seem "burn it to the ground" bad to me. Also worth noting that of the 8 teams that spent more than them, only the Dodgers and Astros have more wins. (Phillies have the same, but 1 less loss so also slightly ahead).
If this was a Mets board I think the sentiment toward management would be justifiably different...

But that also means there are teams that have spent less and are doing better...

Yet it's a topic of discussion. Even Blair and Barker questioned Atkins about the possibility and he just said if he's worried about getting fired he's not doing his job.
The team hasn't won a playoff game since 2016 which was still an Anthopoulos team that I still think shouldn't have been completely dismantled that fast.
They've made some positive moves but they've also made moves that are either questionable or really bad. Eventually if you're not seeing the results you expect you consider making changes to management staff. There comes a point where 'almost' isn't good enough anymore.

I just don’t understand this team . Biggio draws a walk so you swing at the first pitch and hit a slow one hopper right at the pitcher

Jesus Vladdy.
Looking like it's going to be one of those games. Hopefully Kuch can keep it close.

*Swings at pitch way down and away. Ok put that one in the memory bank Vladdy.
*Swings at a pitch even further down and away.
What are we doing here?

Schneider is the only reliable hitter right now. We miss Jansens unpredictable power. Bo really needs to get up to speed and to start carrying the team again.

Vladdy’s at bat might have been the worst of many very bad at bats this season. He’s completely lost and that was incredibly embarrassing.

The Jays don't want to play baseball today. This is pathetic.
