I'm still laughing at "clearing the trail".

It actually makes sense. He is just trying to clear it, but clear it of people

He walks among them with no fear and they don't challenge him probably because of that.
Coastal Brown bears or our grizzlies see humans the same, and unless they have reason they'll avoid contact. I can tell you more creepy stories about ppl being stalked and attacked by bears in the Rockies than the Alaskan ones. That being said come up on a cache or a wounded/old bear and it will likely be a confrontation/charge.

It’s spring black bears that scare me. Everywhere and low on food. That’s what ate the person at suncor

I know a guy who got attacked by a bear in Canmore while mountain biking. It was gruesome. A lot of staples to put him back together.

It's my bike. I'll ride it on bike trails. What's the problem?
I have always found you to be very interesting here. But damn, you have gained some respect with that post!!

Yeah, but in this scenario, I’ll be zooming by you on my e-bike and your story will be about the man in cute 3” lulu shorts who lapped you rocking the legacy trail.

Anyone younger than 70 years old on an ebike is a lazy, garbage person.

I am well under 70, but I would love an e bike for a few things.

No, I’m not garbage.

Everyone who has this opinion seems to be people who bike often and think they are 'better than' for a variety of reasons and feel ebikes shouldn't be adding to congestion on the paths / roads because they don't 'earn' their space since the people on them aren't suffering up the hills etc. like them.

Yesterday on the train, a homeless guy walked on, took out a blanket, and passed out on the floor right in front of the trains doors. Couldn't wake him up or get him to move.

Was one of my more bizarre CTrain experiences.

In better shape? Yeah, probably.

Unless you're old or injured just ride a regular bike. As it is I can get a ticket for pedaling too fast on city pathways, these guys are going much faster and passing me on level ground. Without ringing a bell I may add.

I dunno, doesn’t sound like you’re in very good shape if you need to bike to exercise and still get passed by 70 year olds.

Maybe leave the pathways to people who can keep up, slowpoke.
