It was probably that moment when Heatley swore he'd never play for the Oilers.

Does Smyth still own a steakhouse/bar in Bumonton, or did the Health Board finally shut it down?

It's called Smyttys Chop Haus and it the serves the most inconsistently sized & ragged edge steaks. Their gimmick is that you order steak, but all you receive is hamburger.

From the point of view that assumes Smyth probably has tears streaming down his face, then the video makes more sense.

Smyths lose.

Don't pay up.
That seems on brand.

They probably argued that they were at a disadvantage. 4 functional eyes vs. 3.

Welp… maybe it’s back to being senior hockey legends for the Smyth boys.

Was Smyth part of the infamous Osteria debacle? Seems like he would have been.

I was doing a little digging for the trade rumors thread with respect to teams drafting in the top 4 and going on to win a cup.

The oilers have drafted 6 players in the top four picks since 2010 and have absolutely nothing to show for it but a garth brooks banner.

And lets be honest, that is 'less than nothing.'

Also I have always maintained that for every #1 overall Draft Pick a team must 'scratch' a Cup win, every Ultimate Loss (drafting #1 due to DFL) must negate an Ultimate Victory (Cup Win).

They'll always have Garth Brooks to lean on after the decade of McDrai is up.

It's funny that the Oilers drafted so often in the top part of the 1st round that the NHL had to eventually change the rules. Just imagine being that bad that they NHL eventually had to put their foot down.

Twice.

They just did a bad job of it.

McDavid's agent hires a new director of amateur scouting:

Wright was a former Oilers 1st round pick and Director of Amateur scouting with Detroit which Holland brought over.

Thoughts and prayers to Rick Pracey and the Pracey family.

For Tyler Wright and the Wright family, now the healing begins...

Former Saint John Flames Rick Pracey.

(Played 47 minutes in goal in the 1997/1998 season and shat the bed)

He's been with the Flyers since 2014. Maybe he will reproduce the same success in Edmonton.

In the article, it says that he was responsible for drafting Landeskog (#2 overall), MacKinnon (#1 overall) and Duchene (#3 overall) when he worked for Colorado. Maybe they are getting ready for the next decade of darkness.

LOL. I have no scouting experience and I could have drafted those guys based on Hockey News predictions.

Crazy that they took Duchene with Tom Erixon still on the board.
