This win was necessary because Ms ain't losing tonight. They're up 7-1 on KC right now.
Ooop, make it 7-5.

Just read that the Yanks are .500 this late in the season for the first time since 1995. That's just ridiculous and long over due. Hopefully the downward trend continues because those contracts are awful.

Kinda crazy how the jays went from a hitting powerhouse 2015-2021 to now arguably having the best pitching in baseball. As we all know postseason is won by pitching.

gold glove last year, and almost certainly another gold glove this year - one of the best defensive 1st baseman in baseball

regarding sliding, versus running home - pretty sure a head first slide gets there ahead of running (assuming it's times properly)

Failed to comment on the game last night but Kikuchi has been a treat to watch. Not to mention our bullpen, when healthy, finally starting to heat up at the right time. Just need the bats to get alive and we are a dangerous team. I did like the comparison last night while watching the game that the Jays and Phillies are similar. We can go on a deep playoff run if things click at the right time, and that's exactly what Philly did last season.

Not really he’s been quite bad. He’s having a horrendous season. One of the league leaders in double plays, middling power at best. He’s dropping back to the numbers he had in his rookie season. Maybe this means the Jays could extend him for cheap but would they really want to? Current Vlad just isn’t a good baseball player.

-10 RAA, negative UZR, -7 DRS (second worst). So no he’s not a good defensive 1b he’s one of the worst. Gold glove last year was a joke but he at least was okay last year. He’s far worse this year being among the league trailers in every defensive stat.

Vlad has a worse WAR then Varsho
Not sure how anyone can see this season as anything but a total disaster

It's a weird feeling this season that I'm thinking "please no double play" when Vladdy has multiple base runners on and he's at the plate. That's usually the feeling you get when a schlub comes up in a prime scoring opportunity.

He's a mess offensively. Saying he is nothing special defensively is some "Holy #### I'm too high to be typing right now" stuff.

His stat casts numbers defensively are the worse in the database for 1b going back to 2016. So yes he is special defensively. He is specially bad. That’s not a place you want to be and sorry if some nice scoops makes you think he’s a good defender. He’s not.

And this is with six weeks to go still.
