Stand to be corrected on any of these, but at first glance:
 Biggest riser: Solovyov @ +15

 Biggest faller: Kerins @ -9

Lots of consistency in the top 5: Ruzicka graduating and Honzek jumping in, but otherwise the same cast.

Lots of typical prospect turnover: 10 names off of last year's list are gone from this year's vote, and 9 new players are in the rankings this year for the first time.

We also had 2 mostly graduate to the Flames (Duehr and Ruzicka). Wouldn't be a surprise at all to 3 or 4 doing the same this year.

Too high: Poirier, very good offensively but very one dimensional and a long ways from being a regular.
Too low: Wolf , it cannot be overstated how important it is that he pans out for this team. In all seriousness though it's probably Petterson or Jones.

Nemisz and Wahl- man I thought both of these were at least 3rd liners in the NHL. Nemisz in particular- had the size and the skill, just no toolbox at all.

Now that it is over, here is list of a few CP ranked prospects at 15 or greater that are or have gone on to be decent NHL'ers. I included Wolf and Duehr to include more recent rankings but they both will have good opportunities to follow in the others footsteps.
 2013: 17. Brossoit, 21. Bouma, 25.Kulak, 26. Ferland
 2014: 15. Ferland, 16. Kulak, 35. Jooris
 2015: 19. Kulak, 21. Mangiapane, 23. Hathaway
 2016: 16. Fox, 18. Dube, 20, Hathaway, 31, Rittich
 2017: 17. Hathaway, 22. Ruzicka, 24. Lomberg
 2018: 23. Lomberg
 2019: 18. Wolf, 24. Lomberg
 2021: 39. Duehr
 2022: 20. Duehr

My prediction for future NHL'ers on the 2023 list that we ranked higher than 15th are Bell and Lipinski.

One thing I like about following baseball as opposed to say Hockey is official prospect rankings are in abundance. But you're right article is to be taken with a grain of salt.

Most of those guys are lower end roster guys or fringe NHLers. Most will have relatively short careers.

But the fact that we had Adam Fox listed at 16th on our own list of meagre prospects is ####ing heeeeelarious.

Well I guess this poll no longer holds any value as neither Koumontzis nor Nodler are Flames property, as neither was signed by yesterday’s deadline.

To High: Zary, I just don't think he has got the stuff to be an every day NHLer. I don't think he goes as high if he was not drafted in the first round. I know folks spoke highly of his camp last year, but nothing else really pops off the page for me.

Too Low. Ronni, I think there is a good argument for putting him in the top 10. He is still young at 19. There is always room for depth players who can work a PK.
 | - What am I missing about this kid? I usually have a strong handle on all our prospects but know next to nothing about him and he is in our top 15.
Too low: Bell - I think he has the tools to be a middle six F.

If I understand this article correctly, looks like we still have the rights to Koumontzis but relinquished the rights to Nodler. We might have another year to vote Koumontzis last in the prospect ranking!

		| The National Hockey League’s annual August 15 deadline for signing draftees that are departing college – via graduation or withdrawal – has come and gone. The Calgary Flames announced zero signings by the 3 p.m. MT deadline, and ended up maintaining the signing rights to 2018 fourth-round pick Demetrios Koumontzis but lost the rights to 2019 fifth-rounder Josh Nodler. Koumontzis remained on the Flames’ reserve list after the deadline, while Nodler disappeared.

Koumontzis was a late-season signing for the eventual ECHL champions Idaho Steelheads.

Ciona is 6'3", tough and gritty as hell, and has advanced leadership qualities- he was given the C this year for the WHL Champion Seattle. His skating has improved notably since he was drafted, and he managed to put up impressive offensive numbers this past year in the WHL, with 75 points in 63 games- good for 30th in scoring, albeit as a 20 year-old. In last year's rookie camp, he was named "Best Player" by the coaches.

He likely won't be a top-6 player, but he's the type of role-player teams will covet, as you need character guys like him.
