The CFL has a lot of issues but to me the number 1 thing is a coaching cap. That's ridiculous and just handcuffs teams stupidly. Without it I'm sure Jones and Gopher boy would be gone at least.

Agree, but I kinda like it that Jones and Gopher boy stay where they are.

I love this. Just short passes over the middle to the slot backs or give Lewis a chance with a quick hitter over the middle and let him use his speed.

Dave the head coach has no choice but to continue trotting out Maier because Dave the GM didn't provide the head coach a viable backup QB. That's going to haunt the Stamps as they could not only use him, them getting him would have hurt the Lions. This is going to be a learning season for Dickenson and as fans we will have to take our lumps because it's just not a good team. He and Huff have provided fans too many good teams over the last two decades to just throw in the towel after a bad season. I am hoping Dave is coming to the realization that he has to start keeping his good players and maybe even sign some free agent because turning over the roster every season just isn't working any more as the team just isn't as talented as other rosters in this league and they don't have a quality QB to overcome the shortcomings.

Dickey's been a horrible head coach. Who gives 2 craps about the regular season. In a 9 team league it's all about the cups. Huf gave him a dynasty and he has 1 cup to show for it. Gtfo!

Yeah I'd put this on a hesitant and often unconfident QB rather than game planning or calling.

As for the coaches cap, another hair brained idea from the commissioner, up there with the Mexican/Euro draft and Halifax expansion. I assume it was so teams couldn't load up on coaches and this spread coaching talent around in theory, but it does nothing but handcuff teams who need a change. Hell,Jones went to Cleveland for a year as a minor position coach and got paid more then being an OC here, so you aren't attracting or keeping talent.

He really isn't. The play calling can be conservative but I think he's been one of the best especially in building the defensive side of the ball.

The coaching cap is one of the most ridiculous things ever.

I am not sure what is accomplishes, position coaches will move on anyways if they get upgraded jobs like a coordinator or HC.

You think we keep Dinwiddie as a QB coach if we offered him more money?

Two of the Cup losses (against Ottawa and TO) were 100% on the players, although maybe you could argue that we should have been able to overcome that.

I have a hard time thinking DD coached Jorden to needlessly reach out for an extra half yard for example.

The 2016 2nd down on the goal line was a brutal call and cost us the Grey Cup, just run it in instead of getting fancy with the QB run.

Didn't help that Mitchell decided to start his turnover issues that game.

Yes I forgot about that play, it was an awful call.
