What capacity are police dogs used these days (aside from bomb sniffing)? If they're meant to sic on criminals, man that's appalling. Not for the criminal, but for the dog itself. At least police have firearms to protect themselves. For animals to be put in danger is, to me, outdated, when they clearly can't protect themselves.
