I'm going to assume that he's a lot more popular with casual viewers than he is hardcore hockey fans that got sick and tired of his unrelated storytelling well over a decade ago. It's not just this forum that's not a fan as they don't like him at HF either.

I got a feeling that Ron MacLean will never leave Rogers/HNIC. He will continue for another 15-20 years, unless he is forced retire to due to serious health problems...

I’d wager the share of the Canadian NHL TV market that’s over 60 is a lot bigger than people around here assume. And they probably like MacLean just fine.
