When did I ever say anything about being special? Why do so many people have to make stuff up rather than just addressing what people post?

What is I still ffeeable is the posters who only can deal with over the top delusional homer posts.

Couture with an $8 million cap hit until 2026/2027!

Hanifin is definitely a better player the krebs. Unfortunately as young as Hanifin is he is still going to be a UFA. Just doesn't seem to be much of a market for pending UFAs even if they're young.

Sometimes I feel like we're striving to rival San Jose's cap structure with these recent deals and this rumored one for Elias..

Maybe the utter lack of interest in these pending FAs convinces them to sign reasonable contracts with us. That would be great. Can we even fit them in? I guess one of the two big guys would have to go. Or all of the other guys like Backs, Zad and Tanev.

Quick glance, in 24/25 when these contracts kick in we'd be OK.

Eklund is a very solid prospect but it doesn't make sense.

We are already very deep on LW and acquiring him basically adds nothing to the team to warrant moving Lindholm and taking on Couture.

I can see why San Jose does it but can't see why Calgary does. I think this is just some made up fake rumour.

It does say that the Flames are the one that didn't do it, so its likely what was proposed by San Jose. Nothing about it seems to be made up, and the Twitter user has insider tweets in the past.

Seems like it was offered and rejected by the Flames. Good.

I would have seen if I could get a Burns style trade for Couture than trade Lindholm and reap our own futures from that trade.

Couture - 25% for a 3rd round pick in '25

I wouldn’t doubt that rival GM’s are trying to take advantage of our franchise’s status, and having a rookie GM, by trying to rip us off…

If Eklund was a slightly higher caliber of prospect I’d definitely keep talking along that line of thought with San Jose. I doubt Couture would be happy playing out a retirement contract with a new team in a rebuild so I doubt it would end up working though.

But some creative moves that can lead to All-star level talent (which Eklund might end up being, but looks like more of a good middle sixer) would be very welcome.

Couture has a NTC. Doubt this deal got past spitballing.

AND retains 50% on Couture's contract, then MAY BE Conny can think about it.
