If it's a termination for cause, I'm pretty sure it's just $0.

Enjoy Tent Jail Alex. I hear its particularly nice this time of year. Lots of tanning opportunities.

2012 has produced some good players (Rielly, H. Lindholm, Dumba, Trouba and Forsberg all went between 5 and 11), but those top 4 ... yikes. Hard to think of a worse draft class. Edmonton might as well throw Galchenyuk a lifeline and complete the set after having the other three on the roster at some point too.
|
All the things he allegedly did jn Arizona are part of everyday life in Edmonton...just needs to wield a knife to fit in better.

Tough to play from Jail.
Maybe they could do another re-boot of 'The Longest Yard' but with hockey?
You'd have to 'Weekend at Bernie's' Burt Reynolds, but it could be done if you get the right sunglasses.

Isn't Galchenyuk the guy who hosted some house party / post game party with a random cast of male/female guests when his Russian GF crashed the party and attacked him? Cops called, GF arrested and jokes floating around about him getting beaten up by his GF?

Baffling move by the Coyotes. I guess they have reason to believe Matthews isn't reaching UFA. Otherwise terminating a contract because someone got up to some Arizona Saturday night shenanigans would definitely prevent Matthews from signing with them.

Why? That all they told us, as usual, theres likely more.
I thought it was pretty baffling that they bothered signing him in the first place. For the Coyotes its just a replacement-level player getting canned and opening a spot in camp.
He was a low-risk/high-reward signing. League minimum for someone who might out-perform his contract. In Arizona's circumstances its fairly irrelevant.

He's a millionaire, actual jail will be of little or no concern to him. That's how America works.

Okay? And 30 days is practically nothing. Minorities are the ones that do real time down there.

Yeah, pretty baffling and obviously related to a sudden rumour that Matthews is available, orrrrr, hear me out - Maybe the vast majority of us, including teams and officials see the following as more than Saturday night shenanigans?

on a number of charges including private property hit and run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest, Threatening or Intimidating

You're just ####ing nerds like the Yotes. Like Matthews would want to sign with a team that will terminate his contract for some good ol' Arizona fun.

a female security guard at a condo complex in Scottsdale made the complaint after she said Matthews and a group of males tried to open her vehicle as she sat inside doing paperwork at 2 a.m.
The complainant said she got out her car and confronted Matthews, who she said appeared to be intoxicated. She said Matthews said he thought it would be funny to see how she would respond.
The report states that, as Matthews walked away, he dropped his pants, bent over and grabbed his buttocks
