Unfortunately I think Hanifin undervalues Calgary, what you going to do.

For the most part, the majority of posters look at him as a 4-5 D and look at him as a trade piece.
Defenseman mature later than forwards.
He is still a young D who has come a long ways. I see him as a top pairing D, moving forward.

I think Lindholm’s deal if he stays is between 9-9.5 and I think Nylander would be between 9.25-9.75

Jesus. They could be the next Drumheller.

I think most of us know he's a #2 or 3 D... but he isn't going to re-sign here.

Most posters think he is a #2 or 3D? Really?
That’s not the impression I get.

I really don't believe I've heard him called a 5 or a 6. Ever.

If Hanifin was thought of as a 4-5 guy, we wouldn't be talking about getting a 1st rounder or a top six forward for him like we have all offseason

One guy on here a couple days ago said there's "no chance" the cap will stop us from keeping young players. So what the hell, give everybody max term and salary.

18 year old posters don't typically put their reputation on the line if they don't have somewhat of a reliable source.
On top of that, who cares? This is a speculation thread and we're here for excitement and fun and these months of the off season are particularly dry.

I agree. Also, there are circumstances that make it more likely that the information is true. Examples: the trust between Flames’ mgmt and Treliving and both teams want or even need to make a trade.

If there are rumours surrounding Toronto, it has to be Nylander (who I don't like at all, would rather Konecny).
Market is "soft" for Lindholm/Hanifin, but somehow I fear an overpayment for Nylander.

The market is soft if you’re looking for futures. If it’s a hockey trade, there’ll be teams willing to tango.

timbit you're in la la land a bit on this one. I rarely if ever see anyone refer to Hanifin as a 4-5 Dman, but more importantly your continued suggestion that posters are wanting to trade him because they don't appreciate what he is or will become is baffling considering one of the biggest pieces of Flames news this summer is Conroy being informed that Hanifin will not be re-signing in Calgary.
Did you miss this, somehow? You keep speaking as if he has more value to us and therefore we should keep him, while other posters are crazy for including him in trade proposals, when we don't have the option of keeping him.

Correct, teams lack of cap space mean it’s nearly impossible to simply trade decent players for futures.
Taylor Hall went for basically nothing.
