I don't because I don't see Columbus willing to part with what we would need back. The things I would be interested from Columbus are Laine, Johnson, or Fantilli. I don't see the Jackets moving any of them. Not interested in Sillinger at all. There just isn't anything there that could be had.

Would people say Hanifins value is more/less/equal to around Pesce? One year to UFA for both, lowerish cap hit this season. Pesce is R though.

Overall, I would value Hanifin higher than Pesce IMO. Hanifin puts up better offensive numbers, he is younger and is an elite skater. Pesce is a better penalty killer and is better at being a shutdown defenceman. But the difference in defensive skills is pretty close. Both are really solid top 2-3 defensemen on any team. The return for Pesce should set a minimum value for Hanifin.

Lots of smoke around Toronto and Calgary working on a deal. What the details to it are I have no intel as of yet but I have sources in both markets who report these two teams are heavily engaged in talks. If I can get anything more tmrw I will let you guys know.

I could see Liljegren for Zadorov although it puts Toronto into an even bigger hole cap wise. Tree makes obvious moves and it's been out there for a while that he is looking for size to bolster their defense.
