Nah, boycotts are for pussies. Let's cancel it.

My face is a bum!

They should only buy white fireworks as reparations for the original cancellation.

I am a proud born and raised Canadian, a visible minority. My parents came to Canada in the 80s. We amongst others like us have ZERO issue with fireworks, its the country we came too, if anything we are offended that there is all of sudden/randomly one year no fireworks, I dont know a single person ( minority or non minotiry friend) that has ever had an issue or not wanted to see fireworks even if not up close. It is once a year, even if i was offended.. which would mean i am offended by everything.
Decision makes zero sense to me.

Exactly. I'm in the same boat. I've surveyed my immigrant peeps and no one has any issues with it. Everyone is confused.
It actually has a detrimental negative effect.
Now people will be asking/blaming "those people" for getting the fireworks cancelled.
Its a big huge embarrassing facepalm.

Well said.

I’d like to know how many Indigenous groups, people and communities were consulted about this. Many of us look forward to July 1st festivities, including the fireworks. It’s one of the few times when Canadians get together and celebrate the diversity of our country.
Indigenous people are Canadians. We have every right to celebrate Canada Day, even if others choose not to. Removing a holiday or a celebration that unites Canadians is not reconciliation. Actions like this further divide us.

Kind of amusing that all this wind will mean the fireworks will be canceled anyway.

Nope they're on. But they seem to be from the Stampede nightly location, not the usual Canada Day location (at least not the one from the previous 2 years).

Awesome fireworks display tonight at the Stampede grounds. Felt like they went on longer than other years.
