Maybe not today.

I'm willing to bet things are a whole lit different by Monday or Tuesday though.

Every team gets to drop their ufas off their cap hit totals and teams can go up to 10% over the ceiling until October.

Conroy is playing this entirely correctly

Patience is not only a virtue but also will reward the club in the end.

I still think Lafreniere should be a player of interest. Similar to Sharangovich, target young RFA's with upside that have seemingly fallen out of favor. Maybe they dont all hit but at least having a couple of them increases the chances of 1 or 2 working out

I heard on NHL radio this morning that there are expected to be a greater than usual number of RFAs not qualified. If so, it might be part of the reason the trade market is held up.

I kinda feel like we know who Laf is at this point.
He's surrounded by talent and cannot produce.

I liked the picks we made.

Pretty dissappinted at the general direction of this team and the inability to accrue more 2023 picks.

Really hope we avoid re-signing any of these guys longterm at this point. I dont see this current roster doing anything next season and I don't want us to be tied to them for the next decade.

Hopefully lindy does us a favor and says he won't re-sign

I'm ok with not getting more 2023 picks if the alternative is we make some trades for some good prospects instead. Hell that may even be better.

If we're going into camp without moving out anyone else I think that's a mistake.

But we'll see how it all shakes out!

The direction of the team seems a bit concerning but not entirely un-expected given past comments from Conroy.

Seems like they tried multiple times to acquire more first round picks but ultimately no dance partners. I don't view this as a failure as draft capital was coveted.

Well, hold on, Conroy said like 5 times that he was trying to get more 2023 picks and that none were being offered. I think I may have been too quick to conclude the return for Toffoli and the press conferences mean the Flames will not do something akin to a rebuild. According to Conroy, they were trying their best to get 2023 picks.

Probably the best returns will be at TDL when teams think they are contender

We may own the 2024 draft. Is it any good?

Yeah. Only way to get 23 picks would have been to sell last deadline and I think we all knew that wasn’t happening lol

Qualifying offers are due June 30 by 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT.
Are there any interesting lists?

Wasn't it mentioned that 1st round picks were not being offered. What would you suggest for Lindholm, a Hockey trade?

I wish we could get some insight on what exactly management expects to compete for by maintaining status quo. "Just get in and anything can happen" has worked for this organization exactly once in 35 years, and they didn't even win anything. Like, if you were to place a bet on what is most likely to happen when you run it back with an aging team that already missed the playoffs, does that sound like smart business to anyone except Murray Edwards? Do we need to have more of a wait and see approach for that plan as well?

I honestly don't understand how there can be any rationale for this approach except cynicism. Edwards knows the fans are stupid sheep who will pay for his crappy product no matter what.

Sometimes the information is good, sometimes the information is ####.

I am grateful that I have relationships with people around the league and I am a fan first of the best hockey club on the planet - The Calgary Flames.

However, those who think I got no information are either to lazy to check for receipts or think I blow smoke which is fine too. I don't care what people think. If you want 100% Facts, you have to wait for SureLoss and that group that post everything that crosses the goal line, It's not under appreciated.

I thank those that appreciate my contributions to this forum/site. I appreciate the very kind DM's and the not so nice ones I get as well.

I was going to provide you with something before I head home back to Canada but instead...I think people should appreciate everyone's contributions whether you believe, trust or agree to disagree around here.

Enjoy your long weekend, play safe.

So what would you have done differently the last few days that would have made you happy?

Complaining is one thing but on serious note what would you have done?
