If you are basing it on the Monahan trade, then Murray is a fair comparable for a #1 - his initial cap hit is $6.25 -it shouldn't matter that OTT retained and would be on the hook cap wise.
Vladar has value - TOR currently only has Woll & Murray. Maybe BT wants a goalie he knows and is willing to pay.

It does matter that OTT retained, as you look at the cost to Calgary in terms of Cap and monies paid.

Did I miss where Murray got double retention? He still carries a 4.6 million dollar cap hit and is owed real cash. Not even a signing bonus play available. A third is pretty cheap to eat 5 million dollars in a buyout or take 4.6 million dollar dump
