This team just isn't gonna be as good as we want to hope.
It's good, but probably not enough for this year.

Pretty awesome when you can't tell if it's a home run or not because it was hit too high and far by Biggio. What a season this is.

Rediculous that was a HR. I can't believe in this day we don't have a camera they can clearly tell a HR or not. Pathetic why have 4k if you can't use it.

Expected result tbh. The Orioles are where the Jays should be by now but just haven't been able to do it. Especially frustrating because the Orioles are only going to get better and Ruschman is probably the best player in the division already.
Going forward the Rays will always be the Rays, the Orioles are going to be great, and the Yanks and Sox will always spend and vary from good to great. So the Jays are staring down the barrel of a decade of 3rd and 4th place finishes. Good times.

Nope
It's Merryweather who suddenly decided to stay healthy and perform the second he was out of a jays uniform lol
Of course right?

Garcia is this season's guy in the bullpen that seems to give up a run or two every outing. Like Thornton

He should've been pulled before facing Rutschman. Rutschman's slash line is significantly lower against LHP. That was the time to bring in Mayza.

I know that the Jays have been struggling to produce runs but there genuinely seems to be a real sense of bad luck with this team, obviously their performance with RISP can be attributed to a lot of things but sometimes in baseball, you just have really bad luck.
Cluster Luck is basically a measure of the ability of a team to string hits together, some teams are luckier, some are not. The Jays, unsurprisingly, are 24th out of 30 teams in Cluster Luck. Of course this isn't the sole reason they are performing below expectations, but it is something.

In today's game the Jays had 11 of the 16 highest exit velocities. Vladdy had the three highest and they resulted in two singles and an out. Never mind the Biggio foul fiascos. What a joke.
Luck.is definitely not on this teams side.
The jays have the 4th best wRC+ in the majors but the 22nd best wRC+ with RISP.
They can fricken hit, it's just not happening as often when there is chances to score runs.
So frustrating.

This team is so frustrating. Combination of worst timing of either pitching issues one season and then offensive issues the next, plus playing in a division that feels like it perpetually has the best teams in the league. Just seems like you need perfection in order to gain any ground.
I do believe the organization has tried but it just feels kinda hopeless.

I wonder if some of it is approach with how close these games have been.
They tend to be way more patient and take what the pitcher gives them overall early in games and without RISP.
But with RISP...especially late in close games...they are squeezing the bat a little tighter, swinging harder, and being a bit less patient in the approach.
One of those things where they need to just take a step back and remember less is probably more in those scenarios.

3 brutal strike calls so far. One against Merrifield for strike 2, one against Bo for strike 2 and the last one on Chappy for strike 3.
