They also had the advantage of an expansion draft that they successfully leveraged hard. Seattle had nowhere near the same ability. GMs realized they were dumb last time lol.

Hill, obviously. I believe Quick qualifies since he was dressed as the backup throughout the Final, even though he didn't play. Thompson didn't play enough regular season games before his injury, but he should still qualify when games dressed are counted, and injured players are often given approval. Brossoit didn't play enough regular season games and didn't dress in the Final, so he doesn't automatically qualify, but given he won 5 games including all 4 in the first round, I'd think he'll get on there too.

I wonder what the highest number of goalies with their names on the Cup in a season has been?
 |
The 2016 Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins have 3 goalies engraved on the Cup.

Happy Eichel won a cup before Mcavi. Happy Tchachuk and Bennett had a good playoff showing but came up short.

Gained a lot of respect for Eichel tonight. Good for him. Helluva player. And good for him advocating for himself to get to this point — it was his right, and he was dead right.

Yeah, teams have been doing that for years now with their scratched/injured players. I think it's stupid.

Chris Butler with the Cup, even though he only played 13 regular season games and no playoff games that season...

I think they just do it so they don’t look goofy in the photos (a la Peplinski).

All the scratched players have done so since... probably since 1990 when the world saw Pepper and Hunter in their jammie in 89

This is the funny part, they made the conference final last year, and this year they got knocked out in the second round. Next year, they won't make it past the first round. And the year after that, they'll miss the playoff completely. And they will not make it back in year after year from there on because they are going to lose Pissy and then McDiver. |

I recall a Flame playing with a broken sternum. Jamie Maclennan I think.

When I first learned what a sternum was, I memorized the name by thinking about what would happen if Ronnie Stern hit you.

Yeah cause otherwise only playing on a broken foot and two dislocated shoulders would be fine.

Great, we should offer one negative first rounder for him.
