Some weird decisions IMO and outside of the last two matches I thought it was poor.
Doing the Casino Battle Royal for the title...only to have Orange Cassidy win was weird. Feels like the opportunity to take the belt off him.
Jericho-Cole was a booking mess. Why make Sabu a special enforcer? Starting off the match with all the interference just confused the crowd and took them right out of it. The rest of the match felt flat because o fit.
FTR vs Jarrett & Lethal felt like a TNA/Impact match and not in a good way.
Wardlow vs Cage was fine I guess...but still kind of meh.
Storm vs Hayter clearly a vehicle to get the belt off Hayter as she must be hurt.
House of Black vs Acclaimed was good...Caster's rap with the Dominik mention was great. Good PPV filler match but nothing special.
Cargill vs Valkyrie was okay...good by Cargill's standards, but then the Statlander win felt maybe a bit too much of a squash. Don't think Cargill took enough damage to make it that easy and think it would have been more meaningful if there was a bit more back and forth.
4 Pillars match was easily the match of the night, great work from all 4 men. Wish MJF hit a double cross after Darby landed on the belt since it didn't really seem like that should finish him off.
Anarchy in the Arena was fun but just another "Everyone must bleed" match from Moxley. Feel like BCC actually dominated a bit too much and really it wasn't until the very end for the The Elite to get much offense in. Feel like Hangman especially was booked really weak in that match.
Honestly the more AEW focuses on ex-WWE guys like Mox, and Jericho the worse it gets.
Adam Cole being thrown into a fued with Jericho was probably the worst possible thing for him post his return.
Still think AEW is at it's best when it's focusing on singles and tag team stories/matches and stays away from the crazy 8-man, and 10-man fueds and overbooked faction storylines with way too many people. When it starts to do that it starts to become bad late era WCW.
I'd say another issue for AEW right now is that the secondary mens titles (TNT and International Title) feel useless and have no real prestige, same with the Trios title a bit.

I always wonder if Max runs his raps past the people first...
Because if not you're just asking for a "receipt" with a line like that. So good.

Internet detectives seem to think that Buddy's not super happy right now, so whether it was the rap not being run by him or Rhea leaning into it is open to debate.

Rhea leans into it all the time on social media with posts about Dom...so doubt it's that.
Buddy kissed Dom's sister in-storyline too during their fued. So I'm sure they all get it.
People are having a field day with Buddy though on social media after that rap last night though.

Alexa Bliss announced that she's expecting. I would assume that she won't be coming back.

Not sure why you'd assume that. I do think that she's likely done as a full time in ring competitor, but that's nothing to do with the pregnancy.
She's a decent enough talker and liked by management. She'll be back in some form.

That Dark Side of the ring is really a must watch. they resisted the easy story which would have made it about Tammy, instead focusing on Chris Candido and his rise and fall and death. Yeah they touched on Tammy, the end part with the tragedy of Tammy killing a guy and likely ending up in jail for the next 20 years was 2 minutes of the whole thing.
Instead we literally get a story of a couple of young kids who were chewed up and spit out by a fairly remorseless business.
They also touched on how Tammy pretty much destroyed Chris with her cheating, but he couldn't let her go.

Man Shawn Michaels really did a number on the locker room and other human beings in the 90s. I suspect there's more stories coming in the Marty Jannetty episode.

I remember reading Scott Hall and Kevin Nash running interference on Skip while Shawn and Sunny got it on in the locker room.

This whole story is a tragic tale.
I was listening to Corny today talking with one of the creators of the Dark Side, and they noted that nobody that was interviewed said anything that was close to supportive of Tammy. Mick Foley tried but he couldn't do it. Corny talked about her in Smokey Mountain and said they were nice squeeky clean teens.
Was Tammy always what she turned out to be? Maybe not. But she was the certainly the result of a toxic wrestling industry as was Chris.
Tammy was always known as being someone that put her career first and she'd do anything to be successful, that she was tough minded, and didn't get along with the locker room in WWE. but at the end of the day, she was also a tale of being used til she was used up and spit out.
Shawn Michael's was probably a terrible influence on her. But her determination to be something drew her to him. The Locker room bullied Chris, I'm assuming it was the clique. She got hooked on the party and soma culture of the time. Went to ECW and Heyman though he tried to get her help, used her up, made her do that interview, conned her out of her money and then fired her.
I'm not saying she doesn't deserve what she is going to get, which is a long jail term which is likely. But she went from being a smart pretty premed student who Cornette described as squeeky clean, and turned her into a shambling drunk, drug addict who either didn't want or didn't believe in the help that was offered (She walked away from WWE paid treatment so many times that they gave up).
But she messed up Candido and did it badly and she deserves a lot of the blame for his downfall.
This was a really abbreviated story, The Dark side guy talked about overdoses and car accidents and domestic violence that they couldn't cover.
Bret Hart once said that the wrestling industry was brutal, that it used you up and when you were spent they took you behind the barn and shot you. The tragedy of Tammy and Chris is a prime example of that.
Even today we're seeing snippets on the Tammy side, I think Missy Hyatt and some of the other woman that were friends with Tammy talk about her reaching out from jail, asking for things like money.
Even last night after the special aired. someone who runs Tammy's website was pushing her adult videos as a way to say F you to Dark Side of the ring.

Didn't Shawn Michael spreading rumours of Brett having affairs with Sunny lead to his wife divorcing him?

No, it was him cheating on her with "several" women.

I am looking forward to the next episode on Magnum T.A. That guy was white hot and on the verge of a serious break out to stardom. I remember my uncles back in the day bemoaning that Magnum was no longer going to be wrestling due to his accident.
He is the epitome of what I always think of tragedy in wrestling.

That takes me back. Back in the day I could watch Stampede Wrestling, and Maple Leaf Wrestling, and Wrestling out of Vancouver.
That was it. I followed the rest with PWI insider. It had these great sections, that had all the cards for the month, and rankings for all of the territories.
I remember that they always had articles about Magnum TA. He was the rookie of the year.
The articles were all Kayfabe except for the coverage of his accident. He was a huge talent, extremely popular and had a great look. When I watched video of him later, he was really good.
I remember after the accident they turned Nikita Koloff face and had a huge PWI article titled, "I fight for Magnum".
If anyone is ever interested in how serious Kayfabe was in the day, read up on Koloff.

The WWE Network came up on my IPTV the other day and it was showing the greatest factions o fall time and man it was so fun during that time.
NWO, DX, Corporation, the Undertakers team, the Hart Foundation and the best one was the Nation of Domination and Owen Hart joining them lol.
Also Kurt Angle was hilarious.
