Yeah, there's no reason for them to course correct, if they even want to, if there's no consequence for this path.

You don't think there isn't money to be made for a company or group of individuals to invest in some x-ray machines in an office or hire some lab techs for blood samples? It's not like I'm dreaming of Goldman Sachs coming in to build us a new hospital. But allowing a truly private sector to form in areas we are severely lacking could help wait times much quicker than a bunch of government money fumbling its way through AHS. Opening a private sector costs zero tax dollars and actually would bring more in.

Fair enough, I don’t think it’s much changed from the 75/25 offs I figured going in

Well probably won't win tonight in all likelihood, but gaining seats for sure. Closest election in Alberta history most likely and that's got to be a bad trend for the conservative vote machine.

Makes sense that they are holding advance voting numbers until that late poll closes at 9:45pm.

Not at large enough demand levels that would meaningfully reduce wait times I’m the public system. I think most people choose to wait two weeks for a blood result or 4 hours for an X-ray versus paying for a quicker turn around.

Yup. I think this is a litmus test to see how far right of a leader can be elected in Canada. Smith was not an accidental choice and had money and support behind her.

Some sort of problem caused them to open late so they extended the voting time.

Someone forgot to open it on time, so they have to have it open for enough hours.

In previous years, in each polling location, there were multiple boxes, each one was a poll. When one box was done, they could report it.

This year, they are combining all of the boxes into one poll, so they have to wait until ALL the boxes are counted before they report.
