Hilariously bad shootout for the Canadian goalie. Good for Norway.

It's like Hofer had never faced a shootout before. He froze on the first move everytime.

Joel Hofer should never be the shootout goalie for any team. Brutal. Don’t forget the softie he let in on the 2nd goal.

Those were some great shootout goals by Norway. What a historic win

The Norway team has wheels though. They were fast. On the scoreboard they routinely showed the fastest players during the game. Weeger was the top at 38.6mph. The rest 5-8 skaters were the Norwegians.

Would've been a blowout had Emilio Pettersen played.

I get it, it's the group stage and everything ... but having relegation decided by that stupid skills competition sucks.

can already see the heartbreak coming my way.

EDIT: scrap that, the skills competition is the best!

Other countries have talent as well I don't get bashing the Canadians because we lost to Norway. It's not like we sent a all Star lineup.

This isn't the same as losing to the Czechs, Germany, Slovakia, or any other middle ranked team with a respectable domestic league.

Norway is missing their six best players (i.e. Zuccarello, Thoresen, Olimb, Rosseli Olsen, Holos, and Pettersen).

The Canada Z team, which is still full of players good enough to play in the NHL, lost to Norway's B team of players playing in bottom six roles across varying Euro leagues and ECHL-level Norwegian league "stars".

There is no defending such an embarrassing loss

I hope this isn't a precursor to his NHL career. Sam Bennett also had this curse for us not so long ago...

So not much game discussion here --- but Canada did beat Czechia today and finished 2nd in their group - behind the hot Swissies. Play the Fins in the crossover I believe.
