Woah...from his exit interview he sounded like another guy that's burnt out on a Canadian market.

Now let's see if the Leafs let him talk with other teams prior to his contract expiring.

I don't think he's a bad GM. I heard there is a western Canadian team looking for a younger GM too

Maybe more likely since it seems the leafs decided to part ways with Dubas.

So who needs a GM now?

Leafs
Flames
Pens

I won’t be surprised if Treliving ends up there now.

I wonder if the Leafs covet Treliving enough to run their draft and free agency with a vacant GM chair and hiring him July 1.

Dubas for Treliving, the trade is 1 for 1.
Bobby Margarita should tweet that for old times' sake

If Dubas sticks to his word he won't take another GM job this year.

I wonder if the Flames would actually give permission for BT to interview for the Leafs job. I think the Penguins situation might have a lot to do with how close they are in their drafting order to us. The Leafs are not.

I think Dubas said it either be Toronto or nobody next season.

Reading that press release, it sounds like the team got tired of waiting for his decision, so they just released him.

Honestly I think a Tree and Dubas swap would fit all parties involved perfectly, Tree with the prime time gig and has absolutely proven he can handle choppy waters and deal with the goober media.
Dubas in a good spot with a much cooler magnifying glass on him in CGY. Like a good 10 levels cooler in terms of media pressure, forced narratives etc etc.

And he's done the work. I'd wager CGY would be a walk in the park for him.

All points are moot though as I think the Flames just promote Conroy.

Yeah before anyone gets too excited Dubas said he would either stay in his position or take some time off. Will be a great hire for somebody though.
