I've read some stories lately of people who are too fat to walk, so they park in reserved stalls to be as close as possible to the doors of shops and avoid even minimal exercise. Terribly sad.

It's time to save these people from themselves. Mandate exercise.

But alas, nothing will actually happen cause nobody cares!
This is just a middle to upper middle class tax break and another tax break for having kids. You would be better making it more targeted at lower income or working to provide non- over organized low cost recreational options.

I think the more important question to answer is why aren’t people in shape.

Going for a run 20 minutes a day doesn’t cost significant funds. A pair of shoes a year. The idea of making it mandatory or incentivizing exercise with money assumes that lack of funds or money will be the primary motivator. I don’t believe this to be true.

So then it is a tax break for people who are doing things to be healthy rather than an incentive for people to make a behavioural change.

Secondly while exercise is one cause, diet is likely the greater impact in most of these issues. So if you want to make a difference ban or double the cost of Soda and any sugar added product.

Essentially you add sugar to a product it gets taxed. Rebate it back out to people monthly.

If you are too obese to walk you are disabled. At that point it isn’t avoiding exercise it’s coping with a disability.

Good news is new drugs look really promising to fight morbid obesity.

It's not just exercise its nutrition too much crap available easily at and it's convenient.

People need change their relationship with food. I had a good weekend or going on Monday to workout and 1 good meal vs 10 bad a week is just as bad.

Everything good is expensive while the garbage is cheap that is a problem.

Being lazy isn't just about finding the motivation to workout your nutrition plays a part in energy levels as well so you feel that way. People need to treat pizza burgers etc as treats once a week not a daily thing.

Oh man. I remember going through the various exercises trying to get one of these. You were awarded the one based on your worst performance. You could get gold in almost everything but if you didn't hit your target time/count on one, you would drop. It happened to me. I ended up with the participation medal because I didn't do enough sit ups in the allotted time. It was the best looking one anyhow.

Might be more cost effective for society to liquify the elderly at a certain age instead. All that end of life medical drain is going to happen regardless of mandated exercise and removing that expense would make a massive difference. Cheap crap food isn’t going anywhere and that’s probably a bigger hurdle health wise than exercise don’t you think?

That seems excessive. 65 is fine. Solves the social security problem too. We can get a bunch of birds stoned at once

Next to your comrades in the national fitness program
Caught in some eternal flexed arm hang
Droppin' to the mat in a fit of laughter
Showin' no patience, tolerance or restraint

If a concept as simple and straightforward as 15 minute cities can get corrupted by the dumb dumbs then I shudder at the prospect of them having their mix for for their Jack and cokes extra taxed.

I think we should mandate daily showering, not sure if my sense of smell got better the last few years(doubtful) but people smell like dirty slobs lately.
