Well, it would have been hard for them not to cheer Iggy (Edmonton area and all around nice guy). and there were no real jerks on that team, or any sense that the team was "entitled".
Oilerland is just different.

I don't think many Oiler fans were cheering for the Flames in 04
I heard a lot of "Tampa has more Canadians" talk

Officiating has had a non-stop earful from the garbage oilers organization about promoting Mcdiver since monday, so reffing will be insufferable.

The "mute" button is your friend. Put on some nice music, read a book...occasionally watch when something interesting happens. '
It's surprisinly refreshing. I do the same with Flames games when I think it's going to be annoying on the commentary side ...well, really, actually most nights this year.

I usually have it on low enough to ignore while I have something else going on, but just enough so I can notice a goal being scored if I'm not actually looking.

It's easy to tell when the Kings score because the call goes silent.

I recall going to Shanks South in 2003 during an Oilers vs Stars first round game and quite a few were cheering for the Oilers. They were even turning on the goal light at the bar when they scored. That all went away post-lockout with the more even playing field.

Gross.

Let's go LA. I want to see jerseys thrown, tears dripping onto dirty sweatpants, and fans pulling out hair from their mullets.
