Should we have 2 GM polls created?
Wondering if we should have 2 polls about the General Manager position created.
1. Who would you LIKE to hire as the GM for the Calgary Flames
2. Based on what you know of the current situation, the owner, the organizational history who do you THINK the Flames will hire as their General Manager.

I've long said if Sutter stayed they'd probably find him a puppet GM and it would be Futa. That said, given Maloney's comments about younger & progressive, I'm not so sure. At least I'm more hopeful.
But if Sutter is this entrenched with the organization and is so beloved by Edwards, I can't see how Maloney's wishes are fulfilled.
Likely Maloney will be turfed in a few months once the new puppet GM is in. 
As I brought up yesterday my biggest (latest) fear is Conroy gets the GM job and winds up carrying the water for Sutter anyway and we as a fan base have a harder time hating him or the team because Conroy is so likeable. Basically they'll make the yes man a sympathetic figure. Insidious.

Give me Conroy. I think it will be difficult for any candidate to surmount his passion for the club and city, which are important elements. I also think he's a genuinely good person. Hopefully his long tenure within the organization has also prepared him well for knowing how to deal with ownership.

Why Conroy though? I get that he's been with the organization now for pretty much half of his existence, but so what?
What I'm afraid of with Conroy is we'll just get a continuation of the last management style, but not quite as good. Is that really what we should be hoping for? Treliving Lite? I, personally want the team go go in a totally different direction. New management, new core, eventually, new coaches.

Gotta be someone not afraid to deal with Sutter. Conroy often refers to Sutter as a guy you want to stay on his good side. Some healthy fear there, I think.

One of the reasons I would love Conroy to be the next GM is that he is a younger hockey mind. He is really invested in our prospect development and seems like the guy who would rather give an opportunity to a younger player than signing some vet, he might be the GM that pushes for the youth movement
