Storylines are taking a bit longer to build - but I think it might be a good thing.
I don't think we actually see a big climax conflict with Moff this season - I think the final episode will be the reveal that Moff has been working in the shadows and has pulled together a group of supporters.

That he's been manipulating the republic all along by allowing his officers and loyal followers to get captured so they could weaken the New Republics response to the First Order.
The reason why Leia left the Republic and formed the Resistance was because the Republic ignored the threat of the rising first order.
As long as they don't roll out Snoke as the big bad.

Ya that was great. Lots of different surprises. The heroic stand at the end by heavy gun guy was epic.
What kind of armour did they say the jet troopers were wearing? I know Gideon was in beskar.. but one of the Mandalorian shouted it out and I couldn't hear.
The nods to the sequel and rebels, project Necromancer, Gideon bringing "order" to the galaxy. The Thrawn name drops. It was great.
Finale next week. Lots of set up, should be pretty epic.

That was....
Insane.
Ridiculous.
Fantastic.
Are you kidding me with this?
I thought the show was meandering a bit but come ON...Just...like 9/10 TV right there.

Gideon setting up camp on mandalore makes a lot of sense. Ties together virtually every question surrounding him and his Beskar stuff.
Just wish they hinted at that base's existence earlier. Kind of feels like a throw in that is massively convenient.
The mandos that remained there (including Skinny Pete!) should've easily been tipped off about the empire remnant working there.
Ah well, this is a space fantasy.

RIP Paz Vizsla.
At least he didn't lose his head like all the other Vizla leaders.

All I need next episode is Bo-Katan riding the Mythosaur who eats Gideon.

Oh is he? I just assumed the Thrawn talk meant he was going to take over as the Big Bad with a 5 second post credit teaser next episode.

Wasn't the multiple squadrons of Tie Interceptors and Bombers that followed Djarin and Katan from Mandalore and destroyed Katan's palace the hint?

Great episode.
I honestly expected the Armorer to pop through the clouds and see the fleet on fire.
The shadow council was awesome Hux's old man. Admiral Pellaeon, even though I had thought he'd been killed off at the end of Rebels. That shadow council is the First Order council. Kane gave her designation to Gideon as TK, she's no communication officer. She's a Stormtrooper.
I loved the whole IG-12 suit and the No No scene where Din mutters "This isn't working for me" and the fight breakup.
Will Thrawn make an appearance next week. I don't see it, Gideon is the big bad here.
The brutality of the Praetorian guard was nice to see.
We got the hint of the cloning of Palpatine though and the creation of Snoke which is Hux's project.
I've always loved Imperial ship design, but the Arquitan light cruiser holds a special place in my fandom. First shown in the Empire at War game it was just a massively overpowered ship that spammed missiles and killed starships.
I was surprised that Gideon didn't flip Din's helmet off, I was waiting for that bit of cruelty.

Good casting having Hux Sr. played by Brian Gleeson, Domhnall's brother.

I wonder if they'll have Bo kill finally kill off Gideon in the finale or if they will carry him as the big bad into next season as well?

that was an awesome episode - just loved it!!
i ended up laughing at myself... all that went thru my head as the mandos were chasing the troopers and the area became more 'imperial looking' was "it's a trap!"
looking forward to the finale
**also - i doubt thrawn shows up this season - i think that 'reveal' will be kept for the ahsoka show
