Ya that's how I feel too.
Really a Chapman error and a Bassitt blow up are the story. 3 games in.

In the toughest division in baseball too

Yes, and now less games against that division.

I will say though, I was concerned about Bassitt's velocity in the spring, but then there was that report about how he's just an old vet slowly ramping things up. Well, better get it ramped up bud, it ain't spring training anymore lol
88-90mph isn't going to get it done unless the command is near perfect.
Hopefully they didn't just bring in the next Tanner Roarke haha

I mean you definitely have to be a bit concerned with a pretty pronounced drop in velo. Especially a 34 year old pitcher. One thing I checked in on was his velo charts from 2022 on FanGraphs and he definitely built up his velo over April into May. The fact that’s he’s not a huge “blow you away with his fastball” guy anyways and more of a location pitcher means there is definitely a lot of room for improvement. I mean it literally could not have been any worse.

Sigh. Can we not spot the opponent a run(runs) in the first inning every game please? Feels very Flames-like to be coming from behind all the time.

Jays go down in 6 pitches in the top of 1
Then Berrios gives up a lead off double and an RBI single
Now 1st and 3rd with one out
Bahaha

Awesome, down by 3 after the first.
Be great to get some decent pitching sometime soon.

Thank goodness for Dozier and Bradley
Their suckiness at the plate is even worse than Berrios' suckiness on the mound lol

He had a great spring, so hopefully that's a sign of things to come.
Berrios was bad last year, bad in the spring, bad to start tonight.

Kirk is such a liability on the bases that he probably should be hitting lower in the lineup.
