It was a pretty good episode, they just need Wesley to complete the old TNG crew.
Having not really gotten into DS9 or Voyager, all of this changeling stuff is a little confusing.

Since we are going full nostalgia fanfic fest now the finale going to be something absurd like the Changelings dig up some Borg implant from Picard's body and use Dominion cloning technology to resurrect him into Locutus 2.0 in a plot to get the Federation to destroy itself. Locutus 2.0 will somehow take over and assimilate half the networked Federation ships at Frontier day Battlestar style and turn them against the rest of Starfleet.
Synth Picard will then lead a rag tag band of surviving ships back to Altan and use all the museum ships in a final battle Locutus 2.0 vs Synth Picard or something.

Just finished watching this episode. I loved it. The sound and music in this season is fantastic.
I don't care if you don't like memberberries, my entire purpose for living is memberberrying.
My favorite season of TNG is also Season 1. There I said it. I loved the clips of Encounter of Farpoint snuck into the episode. I knew what it was as soon as I saw the pop goes the weasel notes in the credits in earlier episodes.
We all know what is in Hanger 12 and that is going to be the biggest memberberry-D of them all.

Sure in a lot of ways it isn't great TV, the nostalgia goes a bit overboard at times and yes the villain is chewing a lot of scenery. But I'm enjoying it, one last adventure with the crew I followed so many years ago.

After what I consider to be one of the best episodes of TV that Picard has done, this episode was a major let down to me.
The only saving grace is the return of supercombo Data, but other then that it was a mess.

I 100% agree with you that the plot doesn't make sense. But the emotional pulls are all I want from this show.
Technically Moriarty and the crow (from the one time he dreamed about them), DataLoreB4Soong was actually the security guard and inventory management system. He was probably also their waste management system and the accounting system as well. Might as well save some bucks by using a psychotic multiple personality disorder golemdroid be all the computer systems running the secret base with all of the deadliest black projects in the galaxy right?
Since they were making him a golem anyway, I wish they would have just given us Brent Spiner without the makeup. Picard can have a human body, why can't our Pinocchio be human finally afterall?

Look, fine. You and I arent going to agree on this show and we've both made that clear to each other and thats perfectly fine.
You're in it for the nostalgia and as such you're enjoying it. Thats cool.
I'm in it for the self-loathing and brutal criticism.
This is a show that is trying to convince itself that its SMRT.
