No post game interviews. Must have been a fun locker room after that display.

Never thought I'd miss iggy so much.

2009-2013 I was so eager to move on.

But we had it pretty good. Not great coaching those last few years, but we had a true gamebreaker. One of the greats who gave his all and was an ambassador for the community. And an epic goalie with supernatural instincts.

It's not until you're stuck with a team full of mercenaries that don't wear the jersey with even a fraction of the pride of those guys that you sit back and reflect on those better times.

Too bad the Iggy and Johnny eras didn't overlap. Maybe one day we'll have all the right pieces playing together at the same time.

to be fair it wasn't 8-2 when it happened...it was 4-1 with over half a game left

would be nice if the ref thought it was worthy of a penalty

Environment screams toxicity if that's the 1st period and game you come out with when you have a chance to get to within 2 points of a playoff spot. I'm not surprised one bit, team doesn't have a hope even if they somehow got in. The players, to all the coaches, everybody just seems to dislike each other.

So I guess the problem is deeper than whether or not Lucic is in the lineup. When Sutter said he had unfinished business, he meant he had not yet destroyed the mental stability of every player in the organization and every fan of the organization.

Please leave everyone with the Wranglers alone and start over again next year with a brand new coaching and management staff.

Yes seems that way.

Everything has just gone so wrong for this team since losing 4 straight to EDM in round 2 last year.

What a nightmare. And it could last years with these contracts.

It really puts it into perspective how good the good times were. I still maintain after that run, if they don’t lock the players out and institute the cap we would have been a top destination and our ownership would have shelled out big bucks for big time players to come play with iggy, Reggie and kipper.

Those three were so good. Reggie and iggy were punishing warriors who bled and broke bones for our crest and our city.

Benny was a heart and soul guy but it seemed like he was just an out cast. We get what we deserve apparently.

Think a guy like iggy would ever coach? He’s be a good motivator. That smile and that right hand? Hed teach a shooter about being a sniper for sure. He probably picked up a lot from sutter too.

Sutter was a great coach here and in La. I think the game has passed him by. These players today want to not fight for the right to be a flame. They are happy to collect cheques. Hell even that Dallas series last year was so thrilling. Side street for game seven was a wicked atmosphere.

Regarding your point about overlap, iggy Reggie and kipper were exactly what Johnny and monny needed all those years. Sigh.

It’s just so hard to win in this league.

I want to see us get to that level again so bad but for whatever reason our org just won’t rebuild properly. Even in a year like this years draft class they cling to that old mentality of just make it and something can happen.

I had so much fun watching hockey then and even last year. The bill Peter’s year was fun too until the refs and Colorado caught us.

That is very interesting. It was only a few days ago when he responded to that same assertion from the text line by saying that he had no idea what goes on in the room because he is not allowed in it for more than 15 post practice or game.

So did a player tell him off the record just how toxic the work environment is right now?

If it is true, and it sure looks true to me from the outside, you have to fire Sutter asap. You cant fire a complete roster. And, there is no way he can become the GM - simply no way.

lol tonight's game wasn't a must win game. Tomorrow's game is and the last game against the Ducks where we scored 1 goal was. Go home Sutter! 3-0 in the 1st and you don't pull your goalie? lol

Great post but sorry, this was some funny phrasing.

What is he doing with his right hand that we're romanticising?

It's really too bad they didn't take the summer as a launching pad into the next rebuild. They were thirsty for more instant success after their multi round run even though that wasn't feasible/in the cards with the options available to them.

Too much change with the risk of there not being chemistry or cohesiveness, or if these players were even the right fit.
