You can look up the stats if you’d like to educate yourself a little on parking lot vehicle-pedestrian incidents.

Taxes got a lot easier once I realized that they already have all my tax and banking information. All you really contribute when doing you're taxes is claiming all your deductions and any capital gains they didn't already know about. I don't even check my math anymore.
I've found the tax-assist software to be annoying and useless. I just fill out the forms and refer to supporting documentation as needed.

Walk along the right side of the lane a few feet away from the row of bumpers and be aware of your surroundings. Cars can pass and you can walk.
It's not that complicated.

The issue I've been having lately is trying to figure out how to not get hit by cars while walking downtown when the construction crews have closed off half the sidewalks. It's like a maze trying to get anywhere. No, you pricks, I am not taking a two block detour in the wrong direction in -15 to get around your bull####. I doubt I'm alone - I wonder if anyone's been hit in an attempt to skirt around the barriers. Wouldn't be surprised, would sue the city.

Try being a cyclist...they are tearing up sections of 7th st under the bike lane. They made a halfhearted attempt to detour using a portion of the traffic lane, but then in snowed(as it does around here) and they just gave up. So your choices are to play in traffic(not horrible southbound), and, uh, ride the sidewalk I guess northbound? It's really irritating, because they've used all the extra lane space as their personal vehicle parking. Use a fricken' parking lot like the rest of the downtown workers. I get it for work vehicles if they need access to stuff, but these are a mix.
This construction also seems to have given the bike path cleaning crew permission to do sweet #### all on the rest of the open sections.

I'm personally pretty much done with the assumption that any public space that is paved is the exclusive domain of cars/trucks. As a result, anywhere that I'm not in serious danger of getting run over (parking lots) I'm more than happy to walk where I feel like, at the speed I feel like.
Don't expect this to be a popular opinion, but the age of car centric living has to end sooner or later, might as well do my small part now.

This one is annoying for me too as I access my parkade off 7 Street. Cycle lane (I use the term lightly) was finally cleared the other day but as Fuzz says the construction workers use it for parking. Lots of blind spots at this location anyway, the construction added a few more. It's a challenge knowing where pedestrians and cyclists might be coming from now as they have all but given up on using the 'regular' routes.

Well, a parking lot is specifically designed to park vehicles, so you can logically assume that the space is meant for both pedestrians and vehicles. Common sense dictates that cars allow space for people, and people for cars.
If you're walking to deliberately uphold traffic then you're just being a Richard. And if you don't have the patience to allow a person to safely, but reasonably, traverse the lot on foot you are also being a Richard.
Right side, few feet from parked cars. Everyone wins.

Gas station car washes are a gear grinder. My car is filthy, and I was getting gas anyway, so I buy a car wash. Of course, not until after do I find out that the car wash is closed...so now I have this slip of paper that will sit in my console forever that could theoretically be redeemed for a car wash. I swear it's a scam so that people pay for these things and never actually get their car washed.

Why would you wash your car long before this melt is over?
There's no point. If anything you were saved from doing it twice in quick succession. Redeem it when the snowbanks are melted down.

Well I debated that, but it hits a point where the car is filthy to the point where you really need a wash! I mean really...there's never a point in washing your car, because it's always going to get dirty again.

Found the guy who drives around with their headlamps, taillamps, and license plate completely covered in dirt or otherwise obscured.
Works for preventing camera tickets, I guess.

I do what I like to call a "Chinook Carwash" I squeegee my headlights / tail lights.
My Daughters friend told me it looks like my car is crying when I took it home after.

You don’t just give those a free, quick cleaning with the windshield squeegee at the gas pump?
