The players should be pretty devastated after a loss like this, but they come across as being almost indifferent in the post-game interviews.

Goes for the coaches as well.

I still don't get demoting Dube to the 4th line. Over the last 20 games he was second on the team in goals, and third in points.

But we traded for Nick Ritchie so better demote Dube to the 4th line.

Was same with Ruzicka. 20 points in his first 28 games played - demote him to the 4th line and watch his offence dissapear.

Sutter's offensive lineup decisions are just baffling

The man wants Bedard. Can't blame him.

Can't be too upset. Can't win em all and can't lose em all. Depending on your perspective.

I just want that head to head Vs WPG in a couple weeks to actually have some legit meaning. Is that too much to ask?

Our franchise player is a playmaking LW playing RW with no opposite winger to make a play to.

Huberdeau needs to be better no question, but we need to give him the opportunity to succeed, which we aren't.

Look at all the high skill plays. The speed the Panthers attack with - how they all attack the middle of the ice.

Huberdeau isn’t the problem on this team.

Darryl Sutter and the slow, old, mediocre roster is. You could not pick a worse coach, worse system, and worse line mates for a player like Jonathan Huberdeau. Just a terrible combination, and yeah…I’m done with Darryl Sutter hockey. It is garbage. I’m not sure why we’d even defend it either - he got out coached by that Just for Men guy in Edmonton in the playoffs.

Yes, it was Darryl getting out coached that was the reason they lost that series. Not the inexplicable goaltending by Markstrom. Not the best player on the planet taking a series over. It was Darryl being out coached by Woodcroft. Woodcroft did a hell of a job of saying “Connor, go be special”.

Please.

Sutter did not pull the plug and go to Vlader at least for a game when it was clear Markstrom didn’t have it. But that’s Sutter for you he sticks with his guys.

If memory serves Sutter didn’t match lines in that series until very late in the series. This seems to be a constant with him as he doesn’t do it in the regular season either.

He just rolls his lines. Shovels his garbage favourites onto the ice shift after shift for no real reason.

“Let’s play 13th forward Lucic on the LW and move our flagship winger to his off-wing because strategy!!”

Kadri is not very useful these days

Last 17 games
2 G 7 A -6

Takes a shot, it misses, he does a head roll and drifts away

He flat out sucks right now

Blaming Sutter or not aside; it's just crazy to watch highlights of exciting, fast paced hockey.
That doesn't even look like the same sport.

Didn't even watch, but was thoroughly disappointed scoreboard watching

I knew they wouldn't tie it after going down 2-1. Which is sad

What is wrong with the offense?

So anemic... even for guys without much chemistry, this seems on another level. and they don't seem to hate to lose that much. That's a problem

dont be faked out by the shot total. Even the garbage teams know how to beat the Flames and Sutter's pathetic system.

I know it's a trope to say, you don't actually watch the games. But you come across as someone that doesn't ever watch Flames hockey. It's bizarre.

Just show up and have 4-5 good net driving plays in you

Otherwise just collapse defensively and let the Flames skate around the outside and throw muffins on your net

This system is the worst. Not so much in theory, but in execution

Does that make sense?

For years we had Iginla & Kiprusoff. They took turns being that guy. That guy that could just take over a game and make a difference by themselves, and did so frequently.

Then we had Monny, for a few years he was that guy. So was Jonny. Then Tkachuk

Now we have…?

We don’t have a guy anymore. It’s just a wasteland of the sea of sameness. Interchangeable NPC’s who just don’t make a difference.

Boring. Uninspiring. Bleak. Melancholy
Yup. This team has no star producers which is kind of remarkable. Not a single player is having a star quality season. On paper coming into this year we expected to have 4 maybe 5.
