This is the first full game I missed this season. I was really confused, because I was checking the score on my phone and with like 40 seconds left in OT, it had the Wild 1-0 over the Flames, so I thought the Wild won in OT. I am not sure why they had that, but they seem to do that sometimes. What a pleasant surprise to see that the Flames actually won.
I can't believe they finally got a shutout.

I think the offside is pretty obvious. He had possession as he backed across the line. He gave up possession to pass it. When he released the puck, it hadn't fully crossed the blueline, so he immediately became offside.
If he had have continued backing into the zone with possession until the puck fully entered the zone, then passed, its a good goal.
I could be wrong, but i believe the analysts trying to say it had to do with him not touching the puck briefly while having control are mistaken.
