He’d be the key part for a retained Lindholm. They were in on Horvat and missed out.

I'll be so disappointed if Tre doesn't sell anyone at this point.

I still see Colorado, Carolina, Winnipeg and Los Angelos being the most likely trade partners.

Yeah if you can get Wright for any package I would be all over that.

Cripes I read Ekholm as Lindholm when I first saw that other thread.

Edmonton overpaying for a 33 year old defenceman makes total sense!

Y’all just wait and see. Treliving is going to do something really wild any time now. Lots of trades left to be done. Lots! Right? RIGHT?

1st + 2nd for Tanev? Do it.

I don’t think Seattle is going to be moving their 1st. Especially for a 33 year old D.
With trade suggestions like this, no wonder why you’re always so disappointed.

Flames should be taking on retained salary (this year only) for something. At least gain a few assets.
Would also like to see them sell, but don’t think it will happen.

If Colorado wants to lock itself in and even up with its competition, they'd take the opportunity to pay the picks to bring in Lindholm at 2.5M
They'd have him for two runs as well
Pretty good way to set yourself for a dynasty run

You’re probably right. But I just generally speaking would like to see the organization move an older player who is at a high value relatively speaking.

We literally just saw Ekholm go for effectively two 1st round picks, and a good defenceman.
Also, I'm rarely disappointed in trades. I get as excited as anyone. I'm disappointed when the team is bad/spins its tires in the mushy middle instead of doing any sort of long-term planning.
If what Sec214 was talking about comes to fruition in any major way (selling), I'd be overjoyed in the direction that the team takes - somewhat regardless of the returns, I'd just hope that they're focused on the future.

They were talking today about how fans overvalue first round picks.
Seattle would 100 percent trade a 1st if they thought Tanev would help them win.

Big, and obvious, difference between Seattle and Edmonton.

Strange to think that Tanev cannot get a 1st round pick after seeing the boatload that the Preds got for a Dman who has a 1.5 million dollar higher cap hit than him. Tanev is arguably better defensively and similar offensively.

I don’t doubt Tanev can fetch a first. I doubt it would come from Seattle. A team trying to win, this year or next, is the type of team to offer that up. Seattle isn’t there.
