Yes on both. Remember when the trade was made. All the Trekiving critics said it was still a failure unless they signed both H and W.

Maybe Huberdeau shows some passion and emotion in the bedroom.

Sure. I agree somewhat, but Matt, he still sucks this year.
Thing is though, hindsight is still a valid way to evaluate someones decision making. It all comes down to performance.
Heck, Targets expansion into Canada was supposed to be a great idea too. Look what happened there.

Yeah, he is not the guy Flames wanted 4 years ago anymore. Super weird to give him that term at his age and style of play (hard on the chassis).

Kadri wondering about with solo play and accomplishing nothing positive for the Flames.

everyone thought the contract would be ugly after the first 3-4 years but nobody cared because most of us thought with the return in the Tkachuk trade we had a 3 year window to win a cup which right now is a major

No, hindsight is not a good way to evaluate decisions where info that is available now, wasn’t available then.
I have no idea what target has to do with anything.

The dude is a specimen. With his strength and skill, if he played like Backs did tonight he'd have more points and Flames would be clear of the wild cards spots.

But then Sutter might have to admit that he’s not the captain of this team.

Yeah but you need to look at it fairly. Huberdeau over the 4 seasons prior to this one is 4th in NHL scoring. He is an elite offensive producer in the right situation. Personally I don't write that one off after 55 games where he's been poor and has been trying to adapt to a whole new situation under Sutter.
Kadri though...that one looked like it could be rotten from second they attached the 1st to Monahan to move him.

The point is in all aspects of business, even sports, one is always judged on the results of all decisions that lead to the current time. If this contract turns out to be an anchor, Tre will be evaluated on that basis, as part of his tenure.

Yeah, I loved the trade at the time and was amazed that BT pulled it off from such a position of weakness.

Another puck dies on Huberdeau’s stick. Death toll in the thousands.
