Because that’s the basic idea of taking a pizza home to cook it yourself because you save 50 cents.

Well, she was going to be putting it in the oven when she got home either way, so for her it was worth it.

Plus, if you're putting something in the oven for half an hour, who's sitting there waiting for it, staring at the oven?

Freaks who buy uncooked takeout, I’m assuming.

It used to be a thing. There was a chain of take-n-bake pizza places called “Yellow Submarine” around BC. I don’t believe anybody did it to save on taxes or something silly like that, but it was probably cheaper than any of the conventional places. No normal mortal had a pizza oven so the results were meh. They had a freaky apple pizza though. My family got that once, not great unless you’re one of those apples and cheese kind of people.

I need to try and look for this next time I'm there.

A thin crust pepperoni Delissio is a great snack every now and again. This is disappointing news.

I found I like Dr Oetker better. Especially their spinach pizza.

The gap between a frozen microwaved pizza and takeout is so vast, that I say they're a different species altogether.

I can't tell you why I love them. I think it's nostalgia. They taste like the first 15 minutes of being home from school, and that's the best feeling in the world.
I totally agree. As a kid, I used to love those Pilsbury mini pizzas. I haven't had one in like 15 years I don't think, but the nostalgia in me still thinks it would be delicious. I'm sure it actually just takes like nuked cardboard and salt lol.

Is that the Guiseppe brand? I find they have a funny taste.

Pizza pocket, pizza pops or mini pizzas? They were different. Pizza pops I had a few years ago, they ain't bad but not as exciting as when I was a kid though. Pocket and mini pizzas I still don't like.

Maybe I'm older, I'd rather have a frozen burrito or Calzone than that stuff.

Guiseppe has a spinach one too I think. I think I know what you're talking about for the weird taste but I can't remember which brand it was. I think there's some oregano oil or some spice like that which is a bit unbalanced, but it's kinda sorted out/covered up with a solid splash of hot sauce.

The actual mini pizzas. I wasn't a huge fan of pizza pockets or pizza pops. They were ok, but didn't really like the dough.

Costco used to have some mini Mexican style pizzas that were so good. Bastards get rid of all their good stuff.

If not a sandwich, it could be a pie or a salad.

What’s a pizza sub? Wouldn’t that just be a pizza then?

We eat a lot later as we both tend to get home from work around 8:00. The Kirkland frozen pepperoni pizzas are 20 bucks for a box of 4, and we always have about a couple 4 packs at any given time. They are surprisingly good. WAY better than a Hot n Ready. Lots of sauce, nice thin crust and a ton of pepperoni. Perfect size for 2 people.

Where else can you get dinner for 5 bucks?

Well warming up vs. baking is different. Takes longer and uses more energy.

Saving the GST seems like kind of a lame reason to do this TBH. I would hope she thought it tasted better her way.

There is a chain in the US called Papa Murphy's that sells fresh, unbaked pizzas. They have thousands of locations so it's serving a need obviously. I don't believe it's much cheaper but there is appeal to picking the time you want to bake it.

We’ve actually got some in Calgary as well. I pick one up once in a while to bake in the kamado grill when we don’t want to make the entire thing from scratch.
