You all fit in the shower together. I guess it makes washing the back easier.

They live in the same category as people that don't like beer.

Maybe I am a serial killer but 70% of life is a bit, maybe more if you have to work weekends and over time.

It is tons of work if

1. you don't enjoy playing with dogs
2. don't go for walks for fun already
3. don't have a fenced in yard
4. love going out to do activities 3/4 times a week
5. don't have kids, parents, a partner, neighbors who can help you out in a pinch.
6. get a breed for looks and not that suits your lifestyle.
7. don't enjoy playing with your dogs so they don't destroy everything you own.

That's my opinion on kids, frankly.

Dogs can be great companions. The unfortunate reality is you're very likely to outlive them. The worst part is having to say goodbye, and even worse still is having to be the one to make that decision. It was heart-wrenching when we lost our Berner this past summer.

Dog people think other people need to like their choice of pets, too. I don't bring my cats to your house, you don't need to bring your dogs here.

I've had dogs my entire life. I cannot imagine not having one or two at any given time. I too have said the same thing to certain people as a polite way to say "You aren't responsible enough to have a dog." or "You are too lazy to have a dog."

I'm not saying this is you, but I think a lot of people say that to protect an animal from a potentially crappy situation without hurting someone's feelings.
